Most all electric fuel pumps are ok as they shut off when the needle and seat closes when the curb is full. choose one with a mounting to suit.

CHECK THE "DIMMER " SWITCH ON THE DASH OR THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH ON OLDER CARS.POTENTIOMETER MIGHT BE GOING BAD OR LOOSING CONTACT INTERNALLY

Did you notice if there was oil on the spark plug wires after you pulled the wires? If so you may need to replace the valve cover gaskets. They keep oil from going on the spark plug wires which in turn can cause the mis fire.

There is a dot on the back of the cam gear, it needs to line up with the edge of the valve cover. There is a 0 mark on the flywheel, view it through the hole in the bellhousing. And the rotor inside the distributor must line up with the mark on the distributor housing.

do u have a 1/4 drive socket and extension to fit top bolt??, if so that is how you get at the bolt with the much smaller 1/4 drive socket and extension, a wobble extension helps as well, you can buy these from Snap-On tools or Mack, don't use a cheap socket it will break, you need a super strong pro grade tool.

May be going into overboost and the sensor cuts off the fuel. Is the boost guage reading higher than normal? If so the waste gate diaphram may be bad.
