You should call your local Acura Dealer. Some of these TL's had additional warranty coverage for similar transmission problems. I would first see if you car qualifies for any Manufacturer support.

Car won't start and dash light flickers

Sounds like bad connection at battery. Remove the battery connections, clean the battery posts with a wire brush, and reconnect battery. Make sure connections are tight.

Would it hurt it to drive it maybe 5 minutes from

I dont know what the trouble is ... 5 minutes? Probably will not make much difference with what ever the tgrouble is now. If it is cooling fill it up with water before you go.

I had the car(1999 Acura

Any of the sensor got shorted , the temperature sensor, the thermostat the IAC valve, the MAF sensor.etc etc.All this needs to be inspected. As you mentioned that " the engine light and tcs light came on " .So its quite possible that some thing got shorted or loose and there is error code stored in the cars computer.Getting the computer scanned will give error codes. And as per error codes, it will point towards which part or which sensor is causing the problem.-------- At autozone service center its absolutely free to get car scanned.-------- Yes they dont charge for getting car scanned.----- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I had the car in

You recycle the old dead battery

Have no idea why you even put that back in

Common sense & your friend is correct

You don't disconnect anything on today's
vehicles, even with the key on

Put in a new battery, start the car, warm it up
& drive it for awhile & maybe you will get lucky
& it will complete some of the drive cycles & run some
monitors ,you know nothing about & it will be fine

If not, your mechanic friend should be about to stop
by with the bosses scan tool & help you out

2003 tl temperaure rises up

check the thermostat it may be bad. the reason it cools down while driving is that the cool air goes through the radiator fins, and cools the engine down. good-day !

Power steering fluid leaking inside

Power steering fluid leaking.Did you recently refilled the fluid for power steering.IF yes, then did you over filled it.IF yes, then this can be that leak.In that case the some anount of fluid needs to be drained out.----------- BUT, if this is not the case and fluid is leaking due to few reasons.------- The power steering pump is cracked, or the power steering pump hose is loose or cracked or the O-ring which is on the power steering is got loose or the racks are worn out or power steeling line is got loose or the cap on power steering fluid passing line is got loose.----------- This all has to be inspected.-------- The hose that comes out of the power steering fluid reservoir can can and cause the leaking where the clamp is fitted.------ The steering rack seals gets worn out and cause leaking. Either the internal seals are dirty or
the boots are torn and dirt has contaminated the metal causing leaks.--------
----------- The fault will be simple, but to reach the fault will be time consuming sometimes. --------- To locate the fault, you will require, the power steering pump hose line routing. From where exactly all power steering line runs, if you inspect it, it will be easy to locate the leak and take care of it.------- For power steering line routing diagram, click the link below:---- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/09/power-steering-fluid-leaking-on-acura.html --------- this will help.thanks.Helpmech.

I have a 1999 Acura

the easiest way might be to use a set of jump start leads & connect them to the new battery, then to the battery leads of the old battery before you disconnect them from the old battery, then remove the old battery & fit the new one being careful not to dislodge the jump leads then put the battery leads on the new battery.....hope this helps......cheers.
