What tools do i need

You will need a lug wrench for the wheel, a jack, a jack stand, 14mm socket and ratchet for disconnecting the lower ball joint, a 32mm socket and impact wrench for the axle nut, a dead-blow (no-bounce) hammer to tap axle from steering knuckle, and then there are two options.

Left (driver) side: a pry bar to pop the axle from the differential (pry between diff. housing and axle knuckle. This can be really stuck so don't be afraid to put some power to it!)

Right (pass.) side: snap ring pliers to remove snap ring from carrier mount (rear engine mount houses this carrier bearing), and i think a 14mm socket or wrench to loosen the jam bolt that keeps the bearing outer race from spinning.

Good luck and be safe!!

Nick.

Is there any way to

No, not really. You can move up to a slightly heavier weight oil and it may or may not help. If you normally use 5w30 move to 10w40. In the end you will find there is no magic cure.

How do i bleed new brake caliper

the best way is to bench bleed. before you put it on, removee alamite and pour fluid in one hole till it runs out the other careful not to lose much fluid when putting it on. this way you won't have to do so much pumping

How do i bleed new brake caliper

Press brake, let off. Open bleed screw until the fluid runs out with no bubbles. Tighten bleed screw. Press brake and hold. Open bleed screw until pedal goes to floor then close bleed screw with pedal pressed to floor.. Fluid should come out with no air bubbles when open. If they are present repeat the last part.

P0401code

P0401 - EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor EGR (DPFE). These things work together to deliver the correct amount of recirculation based on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD detected an insufficient amount of EGR.

Symptoms: You may notice drivability problems such as pinging (a.k.a. pre-ignition knock) when the engine is under load or the vehicle is at higher speeds. There may also be other symptoms.

Causes: A code P0401 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
* The DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
* There is a blockage in the EGR (tube), most likely carbon buildup
* The EGR valve is faulty
* The EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vaccuum

Possible Solutions: In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not always the culprit.
* Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open
* Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits
* Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model)
* Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)
* Replace the EGR valve

Egr emission insuffiation flow detecting

Yes and you should replace both 02 sensors at the same time. After repairs are made make sure you have the codes removed from the cars computer memory. This will reset the check engine light and it should remain off untill the computer finds another problem somewhere.Ernie,[email protected]. Good Luck and have a good XMASS.

I need a replacement key for my Lexus. It is very expensive.

Your key has a programable security micro chip inside it. It is either and embedded chip or a transferable one in a **** shell type key.
Some dealers may have generic blanks and cut them to code with a laser cutter. If it is a **** shell type key with touch pad buttons, they simply reinstall the touch pad when equipped. If not the new key must be programmed to the cars security system
There are online sites on ebay, including one in Florida who gaurantees his work and genuine parts, but I would strongly recommend against a generic key online.

When should the timing belt be replaced? Should

60,000 miles is recommended by Toyota/Lexus. Replacing the water pump is recommended because its driven by the timing belt. If not replaced and it fails in the future, you would have to re-do everything again!!
