I need to know how
You can put transmission fluid in the same place you check it, just use a narrow funnel.
Gas leak
Probably a rotton seal or a hole rubed in the top you can call if you need help doing this
1996 Honda Passport overheated. Heater started
Ususally when the heater blows hot air only when the car is at hight RPM is because low coolant in the system. It sounds like a bad thermostat . In the worst case you need to do a diagnostic check to the head gasket. Because the first thing to get blowen out when the car over heat are the head gasket.
How to put tramission fluid
It has a sealed transmission. Call your local dealer to get this taken care of, it requires a special pump to change the fluid. The cost of the service depends on the mileage. For example, when i had mine serviced last it only cost me $20, but it took an hour.
Can not find tranmission dip stick
Ther is no dipstick to check transmission oil on this vehicle. There is a fill and check plug on the top of the transmission oil pan. fill untill you see oil flowing out while vehicle is running.
Just replace the water pump and timing belt on my
It sounds like a bad seal on the water pump gasket. I am sorry to say that after all that work you need to take it apart again.
If the leak is coming from the "weep hole" on the pump body where the shaft goes through, you got a bad water pump- it does happen...rarely.
Chances are the gasket is not installed correctly or if you are using a gasket material like "permatex" it did not cure enough before you started the car.
If you are using a gasket, make sure the entire gasket has a thin coat of gasket sealer all the way around.... I prefer "Copper Coat", but any good gasket compound is OK.
Make sure that when you tighten down the bolts that you apply even pressure by snugging every third bolt or so- dont go around and tighten them all sequentially- this can lead to a crooked mount and the pump will leak at the gasket surface.
Does the 1996 Honda Passport have a timing belt or
It has a timing belt that MUST be changed every 100,000kms..........if it had a chain, then it only needs to be replced when it becomes noisy...
I would suggest also replcing the water pump whilst the belt is off......save time/labour later on down the track....
Where are the plugs located
spark plugs you mean there not on trans mission there on engine under plug wires first make sure car is off pull all wires off take your spark plug socket and take plugs out when done slap wires back on there and your good to go when you pull wires off plugs soak in soapy water before putting back on it makes it easyier for them to go back on that way try not to mix them up they have a certain way get correct fireing order let plug wires completely dry
Black fluid coming from back driver side tire.
the fluid you are seeing if its coming from where you say.Is fluid from the deferential axle meaning a seal is leaking or it also could be a brake fluid leak from the wheel cylinder.none of this will keep your truck from moving unless your fluid is coming from the transmission, that will keep it from moving if its low assuming you drive an automatic.

I have a 1996 Honda Passport with an automatic
- check fluid while running in park or neutral
- wipe stick off put back in check again look at both sides of stick
- if need to add put fluid in tube where the stick goes
- only add what you need check again
