I Need to adjust the brakes on an Suzuki Swift
Removing the drum could be quite hard, if the drum have not been taken off for quite some time. Firstly, you need to check whether there are any bolts holding the drum.
Then, you need to strike the drum at its shoulder in order to 'pop' the drum out its place. To help with the process, you could spray WD40 around your drum before you strike em'.

Losing revs - stuttering - when using gas pedal
The carby sounds like a good place to start, but also a fairly expensive place as well. This is either the first of the 1.3 Swifts (4 cyl), but also may be a 3cyl 1.0 litre. I've had a couple of the 1.3 - both a GC 5 dr and a GL 3 dr. The 3 dr had a lot more km on it when I bought it 2nd hand, and had been used for some time without a proper fuel cap. Sometimes, I had power problems and it wouldn't idle, but the next day it would be fine - until it sucked another lungfull of water through the fuel filter. The original fuel filter on this model is in the engine bay on the passenger's side (LH) and is the "bowl"-type - ie: lines in and out on the top and the round filter hanging below. It clips into a holder. I would start by removing the filter and seeing if you have a water contamination problem. Not a lot else went wrong with that model, so I don't think I'd be looking for an electrical or distributor problem.
