How do u set timing on a 1990 subaru legacy.

Not easy but if you have a understanding of reading the haynes manual for this car it will tell you how to do it. I had to replace the water pump and the timming belt had to be removed. I did it for the first time ever by myself i remember couting the exact number of belt notches on the left and right side of the center crankpully notch , crank pully and right and left cams must be at top dead center. Belt only cost about $35.00.

Blow head asket on "N@ reg legacy

use $33 head gasket repair from Bar's Leaks. It worked for my car's seepage of antifreeze into the cylinder. It might help you for a reasonable cost.

Just pour it in and let it work for 15 minutes and hopefully your car's coolant system will be fine.

Otherwise, it may cost hundreds of dollars if not over $1000.

Good luck to you on this.

How do I rplace themostat for subaru legacy 1990

Pull the bell looking part where the hose attaches on the engine, it should be on top or top front, The fluid should be caught in a pan, you can pull the hose off first and salvage more fluid that way, The thermostat will be sitting right there, clean the gasket, replace the thermostat, replace gasket, tighten back up, fill with coolant. Should be all set. Do not drain coolant, try to save as much as you can, it has a purge plug up there somewhere and is not an easy job, air will get locked in the system and create problems, so try to save all the coolant that you can, keep it in the engine, radiator.
