You will have to take to the dealer an have the PATS system reset , need factory scan tool to do it . PATS - passive anti-theft system .

ok i am going to assume by "holding the turn sinal back" that means the high beams are on. Now i believe that the grand marquis has 1 lo beam and 1 hi beam relay if they are rated at the same amperage you can swap em . The mercury i have has two locations under the hood and under the steering column to the left. In the car it is has a locking tab that you have to pull down to unlock it and it will swing out. In all honesty if you have 20 bucks and want to invest it i would suggest buying an repair guide either way good luck.

Your problem is your ECM module. I've found out that this is quite common in the Grand Marquis. A new one is in the High $400, A use one is in the $200+ - $300+. There is a guy on ebay that will repair it for $49.__. You have to take out your old one & send it to him and he will immediately send you a rebuilt one. I did not use him as My son found a used one from a rear end total job. Good Luck.

there should be a headlight control module above gas pedal under trim panel ,black box with 3 connectors. available aftermarket napa/dorman products

the headlight switch is most likely going bad, do you hear a clicking noise in headlight switch when they cut off by their self? if it was a fuse the parking lights would go out also. hope this helps!!

Just went through this problem with my own 2004 grand marquis was the lighting control module under steering wheel under dash hard to get to but i replaced it myself part from auto zone

More likely a common ground. If not a fuse.

check the bulbs at the back. I`ve had a few cars over the years where I found the customer has had all the taillight bulbs burnt out. also check for power and ground at the sockets with a test light. if there is one missing then you will have to check the wires from the socket back to the front of the car. there are connectors along the way to check for a problem with wires.

from what iv fond on this its likely the temperature blend motor an you dont wanta know what that cost to fix/replace

You can, for the most part engine starters are Ether(highly combustible). The car may not continue to run after the starter is burnt off if there are more complications than simply starting the vehicle. Check to see if fuel is reaching the engine.
