It seems as though the shift interlock switch has gone bad. The switch is located (depending on vehicle) either in the steering column or under dash near steering rod on firewall. If, after you step on brake pedal, the shifter will not release out of park, then have the switch checked and or replaced. I had the same trouble with a friend's car and it was the interlock switch.

The biggest suspect I can think of is the ignition switch, as it also controls the electrical as well as the engine. If it happens again then turn your lights on (manually) and check if the headlights are on. If they are then there's a good chance it's ignition related. Check all fuses and make sure the fuse box itself is well grounded if the headlights do not come on. Make sure all battery connections are clean and tight. See if there is a engine code to give a greater clue.

have the timing checked if its off it could be pre-ignition which some people describe as a knock. if its a heavy knocking noise it could be a piston noise or it may even be a bad crankshaft/connecting rod/bearing. have the oil pressure checked this may help to know what to do. some people describe a rocker noise as a knock but its more like a ticking noise at the top end in the area of the valve covers.

All windows are on the same fuse in your vehicle. If one window is not working, it is either a switch problem, a motor problem, or a regulator problem. You will need to remove the door panel and see if the motor is getting voltage when the switch is actuated. If there is voltage at the motor connector when the switch is actuated, check to make sure that the regulator mechanism hasn't seized due to lack of lubrication (they are supposed to be lubricated annually but nobody remembers to do it.... then they seize). If you can HEAR the motor turning but it is not moving the window, the plastic gear in the motor assembly has broken off. Chances are you will need to replace the window motor.
