1994 Jeep Cherokee Country - Page 5 Questions & Answers
ON my 1994 jeep Cherokee
sounds like you have a short to power inside your headlight/turn signal switch
to confirm you will need to gain access to the connector and check for voltage on the read/orange wire when using your turn signals
the only time you should have power there is when you switch to high beams or flash-to-pass
if you find voltage then replace the switch

Radio, windsheild wipers and rurn
the switch itself is likely faulty.
I recommend removing the steering column covering, gain access to the switch and test the wiring with an ohmmeter. You will likely find that the switch is shorting out and will need to be replaced. If you choose to do so I can help you with that as well.

When I try to use the power mirrors the fuse
A common problem with a short in the mirror circuit is the wiring that comes from the body to the door. When you open the door you will see a wire loom between the door hinges. If the fuse blows when attempting to adjust either mirror it would be on the drivers side. If the fuse blows only when adjusting the right mirror check the loom on the passenger side. From bending back and forth it is common that one or more of the wires in the loom have broken and possible shorted together. That would be the first place I would start to look to find this problem.

Windows regulator
Hello. Call around to all of your local auto parts stores and ask if they can get it and what the cost is. If they say that can't get it for you ask them where you can get one. These parts stores are all very helpful these days because they are all hurting for business. Regards, Joe
PS - kindly rate my answer as helpful. thank you.

When attempting to switch from 2-wheel drive to
Your transfer case could be bad, or your front lock hubs need to be locked. Did you switch over while moving or were you static? If switched while moving, you definitely damaged the t/c.

94 jeep cherokee ign switch problem.
it sounds like the power wire came off or broke from the ignition switch ,if you can test each wire with the column
cover off,you should be able to determine which one powers the fuse for turn signals

How do I get to the blinker switch
By switch, i assume that you mean inside the column. On a 1994, you have to remove the horn button (it just pulls off), then there are 3 phillips screws to remove. then remove the nut that holds the steering wheel on and use a puller to remove the wheel. then there is a plastic cover that will come off with a flat screwdriver. Next there is the steering column lock ring that has to come off. Remove the ring with a lock ring spreader (yes, you will need one) and remove the column locking plate and your there!!

How do i replace a starter in a 1994 Jeep cherokee
For removal & installation...
-
Disconnect the battery ground.
-
Raise and support the vehicle on jackstands.
-
On 1989-91 models equipped with a 2.5L engine, it is necessary to
remove the exhaust clamp and bracket, and the transmission brace rod
before removing the starter.
- Remove all wires from the starter and tag them for installation.
It may be easier to remove the solenoid wires after lowering the
starter. Support the starter before removing the wires. DO NOT LET THE
STARTER HANG BY THE WIRES.
-
On 4.0L, 5.2L and 5.9L engines, it may be necessary to remove the oil cooler line bracket and the exhaust brace.
-
Remove all but one attaching bolt, support the starter (it's heavier than it looks) and remove the last bolt.
-
Lower the starter from the engine.
-
If installing the original starter, inspect the pinion gear for damage or excessive wear.
-
Inspect the flywheel gear teeth for damage through the starter mounting hole.
To install:
- Install the starter in the engine and hand-tighten the retaining bolts.
-
Engage any electrical connections that were removed from the starter.
-
Tighten the retaining bolts and engage any cooler lines, braces and brackets that were removed. Lower the vehicle.
-
Connect the negative battery cable and check for proper starter operation.
Also, here you can review the
Jeep Cherokee Service Manual Hope helped with this (remember rates this help) Good luck.

Radio -heater-turn signels-wipers-went out at same
Sounds like a fusable link , some of the smaller wires that run from the positive post on the battery have a larger diamiter section about an inch long pull on both sides of these arias together, if it feels spungy then you need to cut out that section, go to the parts store and get another "fusable link" and replace it.

A belt which is attached to a fan near the front
Not sure what engine you have, but my guess is it's a serpentine style belt that drives everything, including your water pump and power steering, and alternator as well as AC, all in one, that has broke. NO !! do not run the engine at all with that off, or you will ruin it, if damage hasn't been done already. Keep fingers crossed, and get that new belt on before you even put the key in the ignition.
