Pull the "back up" fuse for 15 seconds. This is not a reverse light fuse, it provides constant power to the PCM, radio and clock.

It can be a number of things, check for vacuum leaks at the manifold, fuel filter,pcv valve, iac valv

All you need to do is use Google Type: 1997 Honda OBD PO505 OBD -- before any code, will give you hours of reading & studying on the internet

d4 light indicates electronic transmission failure but this can b as simple as low transmission or old fluid . change fluid if its dark or watery, before you panic.(( use only honda brand atf,)) if that doesnt work the codes need to b considered this can b done by jumping the two pin connector under or behind the glovebox with a paper clip the d4 light will flash once you turn the ignition on to first position' when dash lights first come on . it will flash then stop then flash again you need to count the first and second separately this will give you 2 diget code look it up exp; honda d4 dtc 34 just say google it , but if i were to guess if not the trans fluid the codes will b for sift selinoids easy fix but no fun to change. good luck. you will need a scanner for the check engine light uncommon for both to show up at the same time two diffrent systems ,disconnect the battery for 30second this will reset the ecm, it maybe a false code and it may not return.

First things first. Check the fluid level and condition. (Honda's are always checked engine off, sitting level.) If the fluid is burnt/stinky and dark, you may have internal a/t issues. Next step would be pull the codes. You're gonna have a P0700 code under the engine list. That is the generic trans system failure code. Your scan tool will need to be able to read all powertrain systems, not just engine data. If it has a specific code for, say one of the shift solenoids, or the linear solenoid, you may be able to replace parts/fluid and be ok. If it has a P0730, or P0740 code, then you're looking at internal clutch pack failure, and a reman. or good used trans. Good luck.

read operators guide, it says, transmission errors. slipping, is bad, if slipping the trans clutches or bands will burn up. it dont flash for funs and giggles. RTM

If this vechile has relay or fuse for starter it may have blown .it may loose battery to starter . Check for loose ignition or broken wires

wow first post ever for country, im GOBSMACKED !!!!wheel ?steering wheel or tire/wheel.?hard to find, they are, all squeaks.first is to see if possible to do, no moving (big safety issue, yes)bounce the corners of car hard, by hand.?jack car up spin tires. by hand, lever them below off ground, to see of balls are shot.inspections here, look at every inch of suspenson and parts.Brakes, i hope nothing breaks the brakes.The brakes all squeak this is normal try lightly pressing the brake pedal, gently while moving slow, squeaking now is 100% normal and harmless. (the pads act like Guitar strings)Use pad glue to halt it, or ignore it like me....the pads have wear markers, they have this device that makes noise when pads get too thin, (look at em)bad wheel bearings.brake backing plate bent.caliper guide pins rusted.and lots of other things bad or just ok , old and making noise, like suspension "A" arm bushing rusty, or stable bar , same.moving noise is real hard to find.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

have you got a haynes manual , have a look at both ends of the speedo cable the drive / teeth on the gearbox or clock side could be worn

brake light switch faulty near or under brake pedal

Haven't heard of having to do this. If it's the right one for your car and engine, I think it's just plug and play.

is the cooling fan working with and without the a/c on.this could be the problem and is it spinning fast enough.if its starting to seize up it won`t be turning at a fast speed like it should.with the a/c on it puts a load on the motor that causes it to work harder thus run hotter.another thing to check is the rad flow as if its not flowing enough coolant it can cause this as well.have you changed the thermostat as if its not working properly it could be not opening as it should again causing the motor to run hotter.
