How do i find my scanner hook up?

If I remember correctly, it's behind the ashtray. Simply pull it out (like you would to empty it) and you should be able to see the DLC plug in.

Why is my car over heating ?

you may have a bad fan motor that needs replacing. if you unplug the cooling fan and direct feed the motor with jumper wires and it doesn`t run then the fan motor needs replacing. this is what it sounds like as it should run when the motor gets to a certain temp or the a/c is turned on.

Why will my 1997 honda accord not start after front end collision and airbag deployment?

There are sensors connected to the airbag circuit that will prevent the car from starting after a deployment. You will need to replace the airbag and have the computer reset by a technician to clear this.

What possible problems before replace ******? my accord 97 A/T wont shift to 4th gear even 79 mph. Oil level good, 4 solenoids 14ohms each, PCM not scanned yet.

Pull it & rebuild it & do all the updatesMost transaxles seldom make 100,000 milesOnce you drive ten miles or more, with a transmission you know has problems, you ruin itSolenoids can not be cleanedIf the fluid was not changed every 2 or 3 years, since the car or trans was new,it is a death sentenceI could go on here for a 1/2 hour about transmissionsWhat everyone coming to a site, fails to see,is that asking all thesequestions, has nothing to do with actually testing a vehicle & findinga problem, not a guessing game, or what if someone else had thesame problemWhat your telling us, would appear to me as internal wear & problems, only a good cleaning & rebuilt will solveIf your light on the gas & get past 42 mph & no top gear, then thereis no reason to go to 79 mphIt either shifts or it doesn\'tYou have lock-up or you don\'tI seldom use the gas much,I let the vehicle just roll out & shiftwithout much engine load on it

Why does my 1997 Honda Accord temperature gauge rise when the car is idle?

Is the cooling fan operational? you should hear it cutting in, the tank you are talking about is an expansion tank, when the engine gets hot it allows for expansion of coolant, the caps on these tanks can fail they are designed to allow the release of pressure slowly, when they fail the coolant system can over pressure causing the car to run hotter than usual pushing coolant into the expansion tank, when this happens the water pump doesnt operate as designed and ends up slowing coolant flow. To check run the vehicle with the cap loosened and see if the issue continues.

ABS warning light

Hi,

To my knowledge, the ABS light coming on indicates that the system has been disabled for some unknown reason(s). This would then translates to your vehicle having only standard/conventional power brakes, but brakes you will still have.

The correct procedure would be to have your ABS Brake Code scanned and interpreted.

The ABS warning light could be triggered by faulty sensor in any of the wheels or damaged wiring/connector or worst case scenario defective ABS module, pump or motor. Alternately, you try to fill the reservoir up. Normally, there would be a rubber cap andanother plastic cap under it. Add Honda brake fluid with the engine running. It would be preferable to do it slowly as to allow the air bubbles to escape. Additionally, pls check for any sign of leakage. If for some reason it would considerable fluid has to be added, it may be necessary to bleed the system. Pls reference this page for the procedures.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
