Check that the shift lever path is clear and clean. Then check the quantity and quality of the transmission fluid. The fluid should be red in colour. if it is black it should be replaced.

2004 Volvo S40 Battery Removal
i had same problem trying to remove a battery on a s40 1998 volvo sorted it in the end, the clip just pulls off, pull clip forwards and upwards and it will come off do not try to slide left or right

From your codes it sounds like your problem is in the fuel system.
P0171 is air-fuel ratio is lean, malfunction.
P0192 and P0194 is low pressure detected in fuel rail.
So you need to look for leak/s, fuel pressure, fuel regulator, and fuel filter. good luck.

Sounds like your dealer is feeling its way. which sensor did they say they changed and why. Do not pay for this ****, you took it to the dealer with a warning light and they say they changed something in order to attempt to cure the warning but they failed. About as much use as changing the seat covers and emptying the ash trays! When you say noise, is this a squeal, a crunch, is it continuous or is it during change gear. Does the car slip when in gear, is there vibration.
Check your engine oil and transmission oil levels
