The radio!
If I recall the radio locks itself after 3 wrong codes are entered. Disconnect the car battery, or the radio itself and plug it back in after a few minutes. I should then ask for a code when you press the power button.

How do access emergency brakake that appears to be
usually if the vehicle has been sitting for a while you might have to bleed the brake system for it un-seize. If you have been running it all the time I wouldn't be able to tell you because I have never dealt with a system freezing up during normal use.

1995 850 need help with timing beltwas changing
You need to get a manual. Try the Haynes manual for your car. Try autozone; generally available for around $20. This is not the type of thing that can be covered here in enough detail to do you any good. You need a picture.

Well what model is your Volvo? Usually the 141 code is the oil temp sensor but it depends on the model.

I have a black 1995 Volvo 850 with 154,000 miles
it could be the wire is freyed inside the cover, or it could have even sliped off the throttal housing it might be just a case of slipping it back over, try a bit of wd40 arround the area of the cable inside the engine bay if it has freyed and will not budge, it is a bit awkward to do but it is a doable thing for a diy novice...hope that helps

Bonnet not open. Catch on near side will not
By pushing down on the hood while releasing, it may relieve some pressure, if that is what is preventing release. If that does not help, then you may have to pry up the side that is opening, and see if more pressure helps? If that does not work, then you may have to try to reach in with a long rod to manipulate the release. I don't know exactly what it looks like, so can't describe exactly what to do. So I would suggest going to a used Volvo car lot and taking a look at on that year, that does work.
