How to replace an intake manifold on a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis?
This is usually straight forward but I understand there is a bolt on the drivers side rear kind of hidden between the Firewall and engine.
Also if you have an antifreeze leak on the front passengers side it is a common defect. At one time there was a Warranty for this defect.
Where's the location of the GEM MODULE ON A 1998 GRAND MARQUIS
It Should be on the back of the fuse box, which I believe on that model is behind a panel, to the left of the steering column. I think you have to unbolt the fuse box to remove it from the back of the fuse box. I would disconnect the battery cable before working on it as I think the Air Bags are one of the things controlled by the GEM.
How to disable airbag buzzer on 1998 grand marquis
Often when you unplug the connector under the seat, the seat activator can be disabled...and doing that sometimes means the car will no longer start. With most airbag problems, it is better to go to the dealer or mechanic to have them disable the airbag. The buzzer can sometimes be unplugged (follow the sound under the dash), and it can also means the car wont start for you.
1998 marquis lights turn off
these have a relay which may be defective...also the switch has a sensor on it to detect dark driving conditions, and maybe malfuntioning
Remove dash to access the gauges for cleaning faces
You just have to figure out how to remove everything necessary from the front of the dash, so you can actually get at the gauges.
It's just the trim piece first, plastic clips or screws. Now remember,if you were trying to remove the dash cluster, it would come out just the same way. You just need to get to it, not remove it. t should be pretty easy to figure out. Phillips head and/or 1/4 inch head sockets for screws and small bolts. Some are 5/16ths.
How do I remove dash covers to clean gauge faces?
I will need to know what it is you are working on.But usually in the top of the bezel (clear part in front of guages) there are 2 screws either Phillips or torques head. Then below steering wheel there is a wide panel and generally there are screws that will need be extracted. These are a bit hidden so remove the panel and look for those.
