In my 2001 Town and Country without automatic temperature control, my heater/AC blower suddenly worked only when set on high. Usually, that problem is your blower resistor pack.

I had to search for the one in my van since the parts man wasn’t sure where it was except that he thought it was in the dash somewhere. (In some other vans it was under the hood.) My Haynes manual didn’t have anything on it except a picture showing it with the blower. I found it directly behind the glove compartment. Very easy to get to once you know where it is.

The glove box can be lowered all the way out of the way just by pulling in the sides so the rubber stoppers come out toward you. The sides bend easily to allow that.

The glove box being out reveals the resistor in the heating duct right in front of you. Just remove the two sets of wires and two bolts (10mm socket, I think) and the resistor pack slides right out. Then bolt in the new one an plug the wires back in (they only fit in one way). Fold the glove box back up and press the stops in to get them back in place and you are done.

The resistor pack only cost $12 and change at my dealer. It is part number 1-04885583AB which was a replacement for the same number with AA at the end, so I’m guessing they had a lot of trouble with the AAs and so made a better AB.

Last Winter my heater blower fan worked only on High. I changed the front heater/AC blower resistor pack and was surprised at how easy it is, but I had to figure it out for myself since my Dealer's parts guy was no help as to where the part lived and my Haynes manual was just plain wrong. This was on a 2001 T+C. I'd be very surprised if the 2001 Caravan was any different. Don't know what other year vans would be the same. I do know some earlier generations had this resistor under the hood and Haynes had is with the blower sort of behind the instrument cluster.

2002 Chrysle Town & Country Power liftgate won't open.

When I try to operate the Power liftgate, it unlocks - but won't lift. It unlocks but still stays partly latched even though the lights flashed and the beep has sounded. I can open it manually with the handle but it won't operate in the auto closing direction either. What could be wrong?

Replace the lock on the rear door. If a used lock is used it has to have the powered door. I am a car dealer and have replaced about 8-9 of them. I sell a lot of Town & Country vans. The 1st one I paid a Chrysler dealer to fix. About $200. After that I fix myself. About $70- $125 from a Chrysler dealer new with discount. The lock is not sending the correct code to the computer and the door is confused on what to do. Only 3 torx bolts to remove and the door panel 2 screws in handle then snap off.
On one I had that did not fix the problem and it was a relay sensor about $40. on the working arm / motor of the door and not the lock. Look at car-part.com for used parts. Thanks, Roy

How to change a starter in a 2007 town and

How to change a starter in a 2007 town and country minivan

1. Disconnect the negative side of battery. 10mm ratchet.
2. Jack the front of the vehicle.
3. Use jack stands to support the vehicle. Do not use only the jack. I use the jack as a back up for the stands.
4. Chock/Block the rear wheels.
5. The Starter is located on the front side of the engine, just below the exhaust manifold near the transmission-flywheel housing.
6. Looking at the engine compartment from the left fender side of the van, there are two bolts (15mm) that need to be removed. One located at 10-11 o'clock position on the Starter and one at 4-5 o'clock position on the Starter.
7. The Upper Bolt is easily accessed from the front of the vehicle going OVER the radiator. It is partially hidden by a black brace. There is a black ground wire going to where a nut is located. This first nut will allow you to take off the ground connection, however the bolt has another nut further in (to the left) which is totally hidden. Remove this first nut.
8. After the first nut is off then using a deep socket 15mm socket remove the second nut which is attached to the bolt.
9. Go under the vehicle to remove the wires from the Starter. The first wire is the positive cable (should be red) attached on the solenoid portion of the starter. That is a 13mm nut, Remove the nut and lock washer and detatch the wire. The second wire (single small gauge) goes to the solenoid and is connected using a slide lock - press release connection. It is difficult to see the slide lock and the press release located on the top side of the connection. Slide the red slide lock out and press the release, and pull out the connection straight out. Do not force it, or it may damage the connector. Note the placement of the bottom bolt position on the Starter. DO NOT remove the tow (2) small, but long connector bolts on the wire connection end of the starter.
10. Remembering the noted postion: remove the lower 15mm bolt from the Starter. The bolt head is located on the back side of plate moving towards the left side of the Van. It is easily accessed from underneath in front of the transmission. Near the end of removing this bolt, support the starter or it will fall out.
11. Remove the Starter, noting the position of the starter. There should be a separate starter facing plate. If if didn't come down with the starter check up in the starter to flywheel opening and remove the plate.
12. Installation is Reverse of above. The facing plate is a little tricky getting it to stay in place. By starting with the bottom bolt it is easier, Make sure you continuously support the Starter in position to save crossthreading the bolt or starter. Hand tighten only the bottom bolt as youwnat to be able to turn the starter slightly to get the top bolt in.
Starter Bolts are tigthen to 35 ft-lbs.
I hope this helped. Let me know if it helped or if you need additional help. Happy Thanksgiving!!

My passengers side sliding door

My passengers side sliding door won't unlock. I was able to get the inside trim off the door and expose the inner workings but was unable to unlock the door manually. As i was trying to put enough pressure on the actuator to open the lock, the manual bar broke off the actuator. As neither the inside, outside handles nor the power locks work how do I get the sliding door open so it can be fixed? This is on a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Look at the other door and look on the front edge to see where the child safety lock switch and see if that is the problem with the other door. That has happened with mine several times. Someone will play with it leaving it on so it can't be opened.

blower, wipers, radio and power windows not on when car is started

My accessories work with the key in the on position, but as soon as I start the engine, their power drops off...no windows, radio, wipers or blower...after a minute or two(sometimes longer!) they all of a sudden come on. The ignition switch has been checked and replaced, connectors at the PDC and cluster cleaned, it worked great for about 10 days, then started to act up again! Once, my wipers were on, then quit in a middle of a rain storm! The techs at the local Chrysler garage are scratching their heads..I've spent over $300 trying to get this fixed...this was a great car until now..I NEED ANSWERS!! I'm afraid whenever my wife takes the car..

You have a IPM (integrated power module) but this is in the engine fuse junction box,It is obvious you have a bad connection,For the radio, wiper and window, it needs a ground, Has someone replace the transmission?look along the transmission see if all the ground connection are there,You are not dealing with a B+ problem but a ground issue
