2002 Honda Civic - Page 7 Questions & Answers
I have 2002 honda civic with noise coming from rear sounds like a noisey wheel bearing have jacked up both sides and spun wheels with no sign of noise .
Check Tires for feather edge. Join your fingers together, move around the rear Tire from front to back and vice versa on both of the rear Tires and feel the smoothness. If the tread of the Tire resist the fingers in one direction and smooth on the other, then the Tires may be producing the abnormal noise.
Temporarily bring both the front Tires to the rear and rear Tires to the front on the same side, drive the car and watch the noise. If the noise begins to come from the front end, then the Tires are defective and need replacement. . If the noise still comes from the rear wheels then the rear wheel bearings need replacement.(You can also rotate the Tires in criss cross manner temporarily)
The bearings often vary noise with and without load. Be sure to troubleshoot the noise before spending money on costlier spares.
Why does my honda civic RPM accelerates in low speeds?
ok good question
is car and Automatic or manual shift. my wild guess is A/T tranny
my wild guess 2 is, the transmission is slipping
you see RPM rise real fast and MPH dont.
this is called slipping and will burn up the tranny if kept up.
did i guess right.
the A/T has over 200 parts and the tests are long.
and repairs, can be huge labor.
The FSM covers all this.
take car to any ASE (USA) cert . mechanic. (see patch on sleeve)
and he will drive it and tell you, in 5min whats bad
engine, or A./T
that is first. i
When installing my remote start, car die when I press unlock button on the remote
the problem is you. (sorry, but it sure is)
you cut up your cars primary wiring and wonder why it wont start?
worse yet, no plan, no factory drawing of stock wiring with your
cuts, and jumps and mods. so , how on earth can any one help here.
no way.
does your car have an Immobiizer option? and you want to fool it
you do know it can tell you are stealing the car, that is
you mimic the theft with remote start hacks.
first learn how the car works, then hack it, if must.
see?
most immo's monitor doors, and illegal starter hot wiring.
i bet the IMMO lamp glowed and told you its, Immobliziing.
did it? (called theft LED in dash gauge)
the systems are complex there , IMMO, ECU, keysystem. etc.
if serious on making this work , join a real real honda civic forum
and post how to put in remote start on your 02,
it can be done i bet,but it may kill the IMMO feature. whole or in part.
Car dies when I use my remote start and press the lock or unlock button
This is most likely caused by the car's anti-theft system. Most newer cards require a separate module to be installed to override the anti-theft system while the remote start is in use. Otherwise, when the anti-theft system detects an anomaly, it will immobilize the vehicle.
DEI makes a 556H module for this purpose. The link shows the instrall manual for this device.

Why my drl light is blinking and stop and few
DLR can be tricky, did you know many cars cut it out for other bad conditions.
1: charge lamp glowing. (it cuts DLR to keep the battery from discharging fast and stalling engine.
2: some even monitor oil pressure. and overheat.
im not looking yours up, lazy today.
but it's in the FSM. all this. see DRL lighting, (canada common)

Montero headlight warning chime
a 2002 honda civic Montero? my FSM has no entry for that/
??????????????????????? LOL !

1: does car have one? read the operators guide, its free, read it.
2: who to fix it ?
3: where to buy parts?
4: can it defeat it.?
5: can I change the pitch?
im clueless. as to the questions.
2002 mitsubishi montero door chime not working
a HOnda Mitsubishi? huh?
MITSU: sport or non sport?
for some its a blessing, vast posts world wide to on how to kill em.
but is:
first in all electric fails check all dash and engine bay fuses.
ETACS ECU , is the controller, on this car.
Electric Time & Alarm Control System
1: does the chim work on all other chime active errors? , like the KEY reminder feature? if that works , id bet the ETACS is ok.
2: the door switch bad (drivers?) the door switch is like #1 fail on all cars. they get dirty , fail to close, (rust) and bingo bad switch.
the way to diagnose it it is to use the FSM book.
the door switch ground the Door ajar pin in ETACS,
so if the voltage on the wire is not at 0v door closed, the switch is
bad, or the ground wire to it is rusted and bad.
the operators guide is free, get it, and read it, and see all things
that make the chime sound. can be many things. ETACS has a large number of inputs..
TDCsensor noise
noise? if the cable to it is not mangle (its shielded) there will be no noise.
