Check your idle air control module,

disconnect battery cable, which will reset everything.

Unfortunately you have to remove the fuel tank,the pump is in it. It isn't that hard to remove on a lift, and if it is close to empty, it might not be too hard on jack stands and a second support on both sides, at the very least.

so need to find out if you have a spark or a fuel problem. do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key. checking for spark is a matter of pulling a boot of 1 of the spark plugs and use an old spark plug and lay it on the engine so you don't get shocked when you have someone try turning the key. if you see spark over and over. I would suspect the fuel being the issue or something broke. did it run fine when you turned it off last.

Nothing special, just regular coolant.

Check the relay.

It is turned by (usually) the main serpentine belt. When the AC is not in use the clutch spins freely. When the AC "kicks" in what is really happening is the clutch in the compressor is locking up and the belt makes the pulley turn, compressing the freon.

Most likely in a vehicle of that age is that the refrigerant has leaked out due to bad seals in the compressor or in the connecting lines. Have a professional check your refrigerant level and test the operation of your compressor clutch.

most car mfg use the car chassis as a "ground" (saves wire) a simple voltage tester from about any autoparrts store cost's less than ten bucks , grounding the black wire from tester on any clean non painted metal surface on car can be used to follow the wires to the taillights so any breaks in wire can be found, also perfect for testing fuses and also light bulbs just by sticking pointed end of tester into lamp socket having someone hold break pedal down works well

if the MC (master cylinder) goes low, for the chutch , bingo bad MC or slave. most times its the slave. if either leak outside they are bad. it can be tested, with 2 persons, one at clutch pedal one at slave lever. looking, (ask how)

read the operators guide in the glove box. if lost buy one,

Locks levers/cable for boot and fuel cap in-car operation.

A click noise is from a bad solenoid or starter, not the battery. Have someone check out the solenoid and starter. Quick fix.

Are any internal distributor parts damaged? Are they all in good working order? If not, something external to the cap is melting the distributor cap, although that item should be able to withstand NORMAL temperature operations under the hood.
