Sounds like they are guessing and dont want to, or cant diagnose it properly. First make sure fuse is good (fuse 6) , make sure brake pedal switch is adjusted correctly. (if it thinks you are pushing the brakes, it wont cruise) check fuse 47 (if horn blows, fuse 47 is good) make sure cable is connected at throttle body. check these first, the rest gets complicated.

Drains are a direct short, either within the battery whereby the cells fail to maintain continuity, or there is a connection short outside of the battery, Check the ground connection and look also for corrosion at the terminals. Trace the wires for any possible insulation damage. Even a small pin hole can short a line, so test with your meters and observation.

It would be very unusual if all of the bulbs died at the same time. Generally speaking, each circuit is on a different fuse, but they all use the same ground. So you would have a fuse for the turn signals, a fuse for the tail lamps, and so on. You should be able to test for power and ground at the sockets for each circuit. And if the front parking lights work the rear should have power too. You may need a repair manual with wiring diagrams to be able to troubleshoot it.

old post pull housing pull stat put new stat and gasket back with wax side to the water jackets and jiggle bleed up hill . use sealant if gasket is not rubber. (paper) if rubber use silicon grease. you said video, why not go to youtube and search your self. its painless.

hardware? only? no labor 25bucks, get a gates belt, so it will last as long as the origional do not buy a 5buck belt off feabay. get the belt and idler kit from GATES. and if the water pump leaks (see green there>>????) get that too. they last the same time.
