Back brake light does not come on when brakes are
Hi, first check the stop light fuse. If that is good, the problem is usually the brake switch above the pedal, but sometimes it is the relay. Check the switch first by pulling the connector off the switch and connecting the terminals inside the connector using a large paper clip. If that turns the lights on, replace the switch. If shorting the brake switch connector does not turn the lights on, reconnect the switch and try swapping the stop light relay with another similar relay, such as the horn or A/C relay.
Note: if you have cruise control, the brake switch connector will have 4 terminals. In this case, try connecting every combination of 2 terminals at a time to see if the lights will come on.
The fuse and relay are probably in one or the other boxes under the hood. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
Hello i have a 2001 honda odyssey my engine dies
My 2001 Honda Odyssey would completely lose power, foot on the gas pedal and nothing there. There were no warning lights prior to the losing power. After letting the car set for a few minutes it would start and run okay. This happened intermittently over a couple of weeks until finally it didn't want to start at all. When turning the key the car sounded like it wanted to start but wouldn't. After a quick trip to the closest Honda dealership and asking a few questions we were told that it sounded like the main relay needed to be replaced. They showed us where it was located on the Honda, we bought a new one and we easily installed it ourselves. The old relay did have a slight burned smell. My Honda is working fine now and it has been over a week with no problems. I hope this helps someone else.

TCS and Engine Light
I would recommend you have someone check the computer for trouble codes first. The codes will direct you as to what needs to be tested.
