you could have a number of things wrong. if the check engine light is on then take it to a auto parts store and they can run a scan and lead you in the right direction. could be plugs or wires or coil pack could even be your convertor on the exhaust system is blocked causing back pressure on the engine.

What does "Blown" mean.. no compression? ..Or is the spark plug just not firing? This is a small 4 cyl car.. you will have to fix it to drive it.. Its a pretty straight forward repair if you have mechanical ability and the Chiltom Manual on this car.. first do a compression check..(Harbor Freight Tools for cheap compression tester) if you have good compression. change a spark plug from one of the other cylinders to #1. Change the spark plug wire too.. iif the problems follows the old wire and plug and #1 fires OK now. you know it could be a plug or a wire.. Always check the simplest things first.. The junk yards and pick a part are filled with these cars.. many used parts available in case you have a bad head.. elinanate the plug wire, dist cap, and spark plug before any major challange.

if system is low on Freon, compressor will not turn on

you have no power from battery you might have a little cap near the shifter just pop off with a little screwdriver or a knife if thats all you have now take a pen or rod that foits in the hole and push down on the pallet inside you should be able to shift the shifter if its automatic if it manual not the same

Why are you replacing the pump? If you want to replace it, it is very easy to access on that civic. Once you have popped the hood, you will see the pump on the right (driver side since your looking at the engine from the front of the car). There should be a nut that is loosened in order to remove the belt. Note that these are accessory belts and not a serpentine belt. Once you've done that, you will need to remove all of the hoses including the one to the reservoir - take this time to see if the reservoir hose has become hard and does not seal well anymore. Once you've disconnected any lines, R&R remove and replace. connect it all back up and bleed any air
