Fix po410 problem
The A.I.R. (secondary air) pump is located at the lower left side front of the car. You need to remove the car's front lower shield to get at it, and to the hoses and check valve connected to it.
99 deville- engine bubbles over. Engine Temp. reads 255 but you can touch the engine with your hand. Also when climate control to set to 90 the compressor comes on and cold air blows inside from under
when there\'s air in the cooling system it can give a super hot reading because there;s no coolant where the temp sensor is located-when coolant passes over this super heated area it will boil -thus causing the boil over effect-with no coolant in the heater core it will not heat either-try adding coolant -run a little till it gets hot then shut off-make sure there\'x coolant in the over flow bottle as it cools back down it will suck coolant back into the system-don\'t let it run out or it will suck air back in-it will take a few heat and cooling cycles to get the air out. at the shop I work at we use a tool to suck all the air out of the system and then open a valve and the vacume draws the antifreeze back into the system. If you can\'t get the system to take antifreeze you may have a leaking head gasket that is pressurizing the system and blowing out the antifreeze-this could be diagnosed by a mechanic-cheers Denny
How do I change out the thermostat on my 2000 deville northstar
Partially drain the radiator (drain is at the bottom on the driver's side of the radiator - you need to remove the front air deflector panel underneath the car to get at it). Remove the air cleaner assembly. Remove the outlet hose from the thermostat housing (this hose is the one attached to the top of the radiator on the driver's side - it is NOT the inlet hose which is routed across the top of the radiator). Remove the bolts holding the thermostat housing to the water pump, then the thermostat and gasket. Carefully clean off any gasket material from the water pump and housing, install the new thermostat and gasket, and reverse the procedure. Make absolutely sure you install the thermostat correctly - in must be installed in the same orientation as the old one.
