Hi. After I had my coolant flushed and filled the heat went cold. I suspected a "stuck open" thermostat and changed it. Didn't solve the problem. I then suspected that debri may have clogged the heater core. I flushed it out and with water noticing good flow through the core. Topped off the coolant again and still didn't fix the problem. Coolant supply to the core is hot, but luke warm in the return hose. Blower works great. I'm gonna check the return hose this week, but definately open to suggestions. Thanks.
There is several ways to see. 1. It could still be the heater core, try blowing air in to IN house, if it comes out the OUT hose strong, its not that. 2. It is posible there is an a pocket in the system. Try bleeding the air hose, that could be it. 3. Take the glove box out, disconnect the air bag CAREFULLY! Start the car, And turn the heat all the way up, then all the way down. U should see a arm move back and forth. MAke sure it goes ALL the way shut, and open. 4. It could be that the doors in the dash don't work. I'm not sure how to do this. Hope the other work!!

Ran good one day and the next day it would turn over but not start.I replaced cap rotor and coil and checked all the fuses. And still nothing.Wondering what to try next.
When you disconnect a spark plug wire, do you get spark when you crank the engine over?
If so,
When you turn the key to the "run" position (do not crank) do you here the fuel pump run for 2 - 3 seconds?
Let me know.

how do you get to the thermostat easily?
drain half of the coolant.follow top hose to the thermmostat housing .loosen hose clamp then loosen the thermostat bolts.remove the thermostat housing and thermostat.remove traces of all the old gasket from housing and the intake where thermostat goes.becareful dont scratch the surfaces while removing all the old gasket.this info is for the 4.9 models.now for the 4.6 engines. you have to remove radiator support cover .remove the air filter housing.loosen hose clamps .remove your thermostat housing bolts then thermostat.remove traces of all old gasket.on thermostat housing and intake. then put in new thermostat in. put on housing .torque bolts 18 to 20 ft lbs.

The Battery went dead in my 1993 cadillac and they swiched it out and now we think it reset the security system because it wont start and the security light is blinking.
The security system (VATS/PassKey) is having problems, it's typical on those cars. You can find a great write-up here: http://newrockies.ca , it was the only thing that saved my Park Avenue.

I have a chapman keyless entry alarm system, I started to remove the system bevcause it kept tripping and kill the battery. Put a brand new battery in and the cAR STILL WONT START, SO i CUT THE TOGGLE SWITCH and it seems like it engaged the igination kill switch, I next cut a few wires that went to ingnition from the comand box. How can I correct this problem myself?
did you see the yellow wire that they cut into? you have to reconnect that wire. there should be a relay they connected inline to it.

i have a 1995 cadillac deville. i was on my way home from work a couple of nights ago and was trying to pass the car that was driving in front me. i pressed the accelerator to pass the car when my car jumped really hard, like the motor was jumping out of it. after that my car will not shift into reverse or shift into any of the other gears. and its also making a rattling noise, sometimes when i'd press on the gas, only. i do not drive my car at all since the problem occured, but im trying to explain that the car is still mobile and im able to go to a corner store if i need to. it just wont switch gears or reverse. can someone help? thanks.
So I'm guessing that when you put it in reverse and it won't move. If you put it in 1st it moves but won't shift to 2nd? And it rattles. And since you have a 4.9 in it the transmission is a 4T60E. I am going to guess that you broke the reverse reaction shell in the transmission.

where is the starter located on my 1995 cadillac sedan deville
The location of the starter is as per the car engine. If its 4.5 liter then starter is located on front bottom of the engine. And if its 4.6 liter engine then starter is located under the intake manifold. And On the 4.9 liter the starter is located on the bottom side of the engine. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

push down the parking brake now where is the release lever
The ebrake releases automaticaly when you put it into drive, if the brake doesnt release when in drive then the vacuum release valve may be bad but theres an arm to release in manually, look under the dash where the e brake pedal is and on the side of the braket for the ebrake pedal is a small arm that will release it, good luck hope this helps,
