Eng will not start has spark to all plugs

There is a safety switch which cuts power to the fuel pump. It has a reset button on it. Usually this switch is behind the front kick panels or in the trunk. There should be a test port on the fuel rail and pressure gauges can be borrowed from major parts stores like Autozone.

On my 91 capri non turbo, the alternator is sqealing

Could be the belt or tensioner(if so equipped) was too tight and then it may have warped the pulley or ruined the alternator. The belt smoking could definately be overtensioned or the bearings are shot in the alternator and creating the friction in your belt. Check the tension specs for most vehicles is usually between 1-1/2 to 2 inches of play. Thats how far your belt can be moved up and down by hand after tensioned. Too tight and you risk burning up bearings in other places or too loose and you hear squeeking and the vehicle may not charge properly or even overheat from water pump not turning well enough.

No power to fuel pump

Has the ignition starter switch been replaced yet? They are a known case of this. You can access the switch by dropping down the steering column inside the car (two bolts) and then finding the switch at the bottom of the tube and replacing it. The part is very cheap. there was a recall on this switch for allot of models, call the dealer on yours.

I wrote while ago thanks for the help now my 1991 mercury capri is rattling I have been told it is the cover plate for cat. coverter how do i tighten it? Also clutch feels weak how to tighten?

Sometimes a stainless hose clamp cam stop the rattles, sometimes it takes a spot or 2 of welding. If your Capri is not an XR2, then you have hydraulic clutch, no adjustment is possible. If it doesn't work right, the master or slave clutch cylinder may be going bad, time to replace them. good luck...Chris

Getting the top lock nut off

These nuts are drift nuts, meaning you have to unbend them from being held into place. Use a hammer and old screwdriver to straighten out the flanges. Once there, use a socket wrench with a cheater bar to break the nut loose, I use a piece of pipe for about a 6 foot cheater. Leftt loosey on both front wheels. If you still can't loosen it, go by a mechanic somewhere and give him $5 to break the nut loose with an air wrnech, then tighten it up not as tight, then drive home and continue your task. If your task is to replace the rotor, the job is not simple, as the rotor and bearings and steering knuckle are pressed together, and kind-of needs a mechanic to pry them apart and re-install them...good luck...Chris

Manual floor shifter fell about 6 inches,91 capri

You need to take out the center plastic console around the shifter. With the shifter raised up into its correct position, drill a hole through the metal near the shfiter, and continue the hole through the shifter housing. Screw a sheet metail screw through the hole to hole the shifter into position. Do this in several places, and the screws should be a permanent fix. Good luck...Chris

If I make several stops car turned off and on I cannot start sometimes i changed new starter same problem

It's not real clear, when the car does not start, 1)the engine does not turn over at all, or 2) slow, or 3)turns normally but just does not start? If 1, verfiy starter enable switch connected to clutch in 5 speed or brkae in automatic. If 2) sometimes trunk light stays on even when closed, check by lowering back seat with top up to make sure light is off. If 3) then could be igniter in distributer.
