If you ran out of gas there is a very good chance that the fuel pump relay has blown a fuse or requires a reset. Fuses and relays are in the main fuse box behind battery. When you turn your ignition on to the one setting before the starter engages you should be able to hear the fuel pump running. If it does not then check those fuses. If it does run then there is a good chance that the crank shaft positioning sensor needs replacement.

This is a very common problem with pretty much any Chrysler product and 95% of the time it is usually 2 things. First thing to do is of course clean the throttle body and the IAC motor (Idle Air Control) motor. Second thing is a little strange but is most is the time the problem. When working for Chrysler Dodge Jeep for many years I saw the problem on almost a weekly basis and it will seem kinda crazy but it does work. You need to have your battery checked and most likely replaced. That's because there may be a dead cell in it that is causing the ECM and PCM to lose it's memory settings. Which causes the jeep to crank like normal but not idle and go dead. The battery will seem plenty powerful enough but this is normally the fix. Hope it helps. Thanks

(basics, and non specific) the car has what is called ASD and there are 6 things that trip this. there is no fuel flow. what does that mean. 1: i think it. 2: sparks good, and test fuel works? 3: you cracked the fuel rail and its dry. Usually it is a blown fuse, or a vacum leak somewhere in the system.

Hi Eric, it sound to me like the modulator in the trans is faulty. This modulator is what controls the shifting in the trans.It details a 30 minmute repair by your transmission specialist. The replacement part should be around a hundred dls, plus the labor. While you are at it, have the filter changed in the trans for carefree shifting.

Check door seals. And firewall for voids.

ok it wont start but cranks ok , right? no A/t car starts, with out first cranking, my 6speed wrangler i can push start it and gravity start it. (it will tell you why!!!) first off this system is and OPTION, so do you have it, seems yes. clues, and i qoute

2. exterior lights flash.
3. engine no run feature. <<<< bingo?

when 3 happens the VTSS sends the no run to the PCM the PCM then allows the car to run for 3 seconds, then drops the ASD and stores a DTC in PCM memory , telling you why. it will store a code for VTSS failure. see the VTSS pages for troubleshooting or do the 1994 VTSS defeat trick, your call. the old cars are easy to defeat, not mine, its impossible. my car its called SKIM, now. ask more ,get more.tell more..

Sounds like it is just the temprature sensor going bad to me. They are cheap and easy to change out. I am not exactly sure of its location on your year vehicle. Do a google search for it and you should be set.

kill switch under drivers side dash also unlock the passenger door a couple of times with the key or back hatch as well my kids messed mine up the other day doesn't chirp anymore but alarm still works thankgoodness jeeps are easy to steal wouldn't wanna get mine stolen

the fuse box is located behind kick panel on passengers side, under glove box.

change transmission filter and oil if it doesnt work transmission going bad

I think your fuel pump MAY be failing, Luther. It may also be stopping because it thinks it's pressurized the fuel enough, though. Have someone check the fuel pressure and flow rate at the fuel rail with the appropriate gauge. If your "Check Engine" light is on, also have someone get the error codes from your Jeep's computer with an first generation OBD scan tool - there may be another issue totally unrelated to the fuel pump. You do understand that a '94 is really getting pretty old, right? After twenty years, it owes nobody anything. The Jeep's computer may be borderline dying... and you may not be able to get another GOOD computer to replace it. After twenty years, even new-old-stock computers off the shelf are pretty unlikely to work. Your Jeep may have driven its last miles - it's sad, but they DO have a much more finite life than the older (pre-1987) vehicles.

Bad blower motor ? First unplug connector at blower motor , use test light to check for electric power is getting to it, if there's power to it. This will also eliminate your fuse , relay or wiring to blower motor. You could use a jumper wires from your battery to check the blower motor also . You could try this first , if you like.
