2004 Lexus ES 330 - Page 9 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I had this on my ES330 and spent a year trying to solve it. I was driving away from work and my friend yelled at me to stop. He said my upper brake light in the back window was out. I replaced the bulb, and the rear light error went away. It is easy to fix the light unit slides off to the left and lifts up. It takes a small capless bulb. Let me know okay.

well the service manual covers both. dcc means ( normal phantom drains, all computer that need and have memory this is memory power) the car is shipped with no DCC fuse. dome light well try it , in drive way then around the block. be brave or buy the book. the dome lamp that does no glow is not draining any batter ever sure bad door switches sure, my cars all have, dome disable switch covered fully in the users guide, (lost that?) lots of things can do the phantom drain even a bad alternator the drain is on DCC or is on the fuses marked hot all the time , vast things on that too. best is use an ammeter and not guess key off battery cable amps below 0.050amps or 50mA if above that much that is called a phantom drain then we pull all fuses, 1 by 1 to see if current falls to spec sure DDC sure dome and gee 25 more use on bat + hot all time bus. when found the same book tells you all things on that fuse even 10 or 20 things that must be pulled to prove they are not bad. not guessing or be wrong 25 + times. or more. learn to use an ammeter or pay those that do. toss coin.

best is diagnose HL head lamps dead. they work bright key on and key off, tell more about HL actions first. does the starter motor sound strong each time you starter the engine ? when it runs for 10 seconds ,during the run does the IP cluster lamp glow (charge/battery.GEN) ,yes ALT is dead. or a battery cell shorted.

Check Transmission Fluid level. If that doesn't work, you need the dealership, or a transmission specialist. A high grade scan tool computer can diagnose with engine running, but can also record what is happening whilst the car is being driven. It could be the TCM or it could be shift solenoids. no year told, at all. you blew out fuses the instuctions told you to first pull main battery 12vdc NEG LUG FIRST AND DID NOT? OR WIRED IT UP WRONG. LEARN TO CHECK CALL CAB FUSE BOXES AND ALL ENGINE BAY TOO. the operators guide in the glove box in hand chapter fuses covers all that. lost it? it is free , in USA are you?

check fuses scan the PCM bingo? tails is old name for PARKing lamps. parks can be 8 or 9 lamps, 4 corners, + and 2 per side. even some mirrors on sides. 10 lamps, area ALL out, or just rear if car has BCM and the BCM runs all that, there my be no fuse (its electronic inside BCM) and if one lamp short all lamps on that one wire all go dead unit the short is cured.)

It could be many things, but as it happened so soon after the timing belt replacement, I would ask them to come and look at it under the repair warranty. Issues like this can only be diagnosed by computer diagnosis.
