98 gs300 loud screeching noise that last for about 5-10 seconds

The only four rotating items under the hood are
engine
power steering pump
A/C compressor
and smog emission pump.
==== I would check the fluid level on the power steering first. Check for pink fluid leak on the ground,
==== Check the A/C system with the wheel turn to one side and APPLY ALL LOADS.
Example: high beam on,A/C max, radio on and deforster on.
This will give you system a stress test.
All eyes on the pully and locate to part that generate the loud screeching noise.
My bet is on the power steering pump.

Please post more info on the comment window.
I will follow up on it.

My engine light is on

when the check engine light is on it is to alert you to the fact that a trouble code has been stored in the computers memory, there are over 200 such fault/trouble codes so guessing is not an option, u will need to have the OBD 2 engine control system tested and then post the trouble code back here, there will be a code.

How do i replace the upper control arm and lower

you take of the tierod nut,the lower ball joint nut and unbolt the ball joint. you may have to use a puller for the tierod and ball joint pivet shaft.yhe upper control arm has two bolts on the inner part. if you loosen the three strut nuts on top of strut the spring and strut asy will drop alittle so you can pull out the control arm bolts. then you need to take the outer pivot nut off and remove arm.not to hard if you look at it good.parts are reather high for the arm.good luck. let me know if you have any questions. i worked at lexus for 13 years.

Fuse or not fuse....

Check all fuses. Under the dash and hood. There should be a small wheel on the dash panel I believe which controls the brightness for the dash lights. Please explain the noise and exactly what is the latch problem. Let me know.

1998 GS400 Dash Lights are out is this an easy

Check you fuse first to the instrument panel (look in your owner's manual for location). If the fuse checks OK, then it's not something fun to fix. You'll have to remove the dash panel and replace the interior burnt bulb. Smaller hands and bigger patience will help you with this one. Good Luck!

How do i change a front headlight in a 98 gs400

If you are looking to remove the entire headlamp assembly, the one bolt under the bumper can be reached by either removing the bumper entirely, or just removing the bolts for the bumper and sliding the bumper out just far enough so that you can peel it back and reach that one headlamp assembly bolt.

If all you need to do is replace the bulb, you can remove the grey plastic cover behind the headlamp by twisting it off, undoing the clips (push in then out and swing them down), twisting off the bulb holder (attached to metal braided cable) and slowly sliding it out. Pushing in and twisting on the bulb will allow you to remove it. Keep in mind, space is limited and it is a bit tricky doing all of this, but it is do-able, without having to remove the entire headlamp assembly.

Remember to wear rubber surgical gloves if handling new HID bulbs and use extreme caution when reseating the holder after bulb replacement. Getting the clips back on after reinserting the holder is a bit tricky, just watch that the braided cable isn't in the way, swing the clips back up, push in toward the front then toward the center allowing them to catch under these little grooves/slits which hold them in place.

Brake low pedal

Many vechicals required maintenance to the brakes. Check your fuilds, usually pedel to floor means lack of fluids and also air in your break lines. Try cleaning grease your pins get the condition up to par. While you have the wheels off have a friend pump the brakes pedal and leave pedal to the floor Bleed your brake line one at a time there is a screw on the caliper release (usually on japan car 10mm screw) and tighten back up repeat proccess two times to brakes all around. Make you should you have brake fuild on hand buy the big bottle DOT3. If this process doesn't help than your would need to replace the master cyclinder, and booster
