You have two options: 1) remove the negative cable for about 5 minutes. 2) you can remove your main relay/fuse. Good Luck

Now, I'm not saying this is a fact, but my TH700R4 trans did that very thing, wouldn't come out of third. And with no 3rd it won't go to overdrive. I rebuilt the trans and found the overdrive drum was all scarred and caused the limp home thing to happen, third gear was as high as it would go. I suggest you have the trans checked out by a professional trans shop. As for it being a bear to start, that's a faulty temperature sensor. If it's not functioning, the computer doesn't know to put it into cold start mode, which increases the throttle speed and puts more fuel in the engine for starting when cold. Like a automatic choke system in earlier vehicles.

Check around the mats and make sure it's not hanging up on this. Also be sure it's clearing the firewall and not her is interfering in the engine compartment

Yeah Ron, the flap that covers the heater core is open and when you're moving the air is pushed over the heater core and into the cab your in. Possibly just a vacuum line of that controls said flap. Check all vacuum lines for good proper connection to these flaps because all of them are vacuum actuated.

Randy, I would stay where you are unless you want power at take off. IMO that consumes more gas. So, if you want more power, you might want to consider a tune up. Do you know when it was last done? Besides, regular servicing is also very important. Good luck.

IF WHAT YOU SMELL IS RAW GAS THAT IS AN URGENT PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NOT BE PASSED OVER. IF YOU SMELL A ROTTEN EGG SMELL THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE A CATALYTIC CONVERTER PROBLEM THAT GIVES POOR ACCELERATION. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS AND CHECK FOR ENGINE VACUUM AT IDLE. MUST BE AT LEAST 19 INCHES,. IF NOT, YOUR CONVERTER IS PLUGGED.

Very possible that the pump vapor locked itself. Had a 94 Lexus that done the same thing.

Should be in front of driver side rear tire. There may be a splash guard that you need to remove to get at filter. Make sure no pressure on fuel system before you take any lines loose. Some fluid may come out of discounted fuel line, so be prepared. Loosing your gas cap may or may not help? Sometimes I plug the fuel line with something till I go back with new filter, then remove plug. I don't know if safely raising and supporting the vehicle, with tire removed will help? Sounds as if something is getting hot and then cooling down my research points to a known fault of your year and type of vehicle The electronic control module has capacitors in it that are sub grade and they melt down after awhile and have been known to cause this as well as a bunch of other driveability issues.
