My a4 Audi 1998 does not want to start engines has just been done, it started just once and went dead again what could be the problem?

If it will crank over, it can be started. Only IF it is getting fire to the plugs AND fuel to the cylinders. What you can do is, have a spark plug wrench ready to remove the easiest to get to spark plug, crank ti over a few times like you'r trying to start it, shut the switch off and pull the spark plug quickly. IF the tip of the plug at the electrode is wet, it's getting fuel to start. Fuel delivery is fine. Now, before you put the spark plug back in the head, put the plug on the end of it's consecutive plug wire end, hold the electrode on the engine to ground it and have someone crank the engine over. If you see a spark happen at the electrode, your getting fire also. But for it to NOT start, one of the two have to be missing. If both are present, and still no start, then, it could be that the cold start mode from the computer is not engaging and not enough fuel to the cylinders. To check that, remove the wire plugged onto the temperature sensor and ground it to the block. Crank the engine and see will it start. If it does, you have a faulty temperature sending unit/sensor. You've now tried as much as would be any required start procedure and it should be running.

Hi i have an audi a4 and i over filled the coolant

Hi You may have to replace the system pressure cap. Also check to see if the system is under pressure soon after starting the engine if it is it could be Head Gasket, my money is on the anti-free reacting with the rad cap (for your sake), have a look at the over flow hose to see if the end is whet after a short drive. Let me know how you get on and any more info that would help me this end. Regards David

Diagram of brake line on front passenger side for

Was the brake line removed ? There is no reason a brake line needs to be replaced unless the line was broken or damaged. One way to check if your car has sensors, is to look for a harness that runs and is secured on the strut. Also check the hub, there is usually a slot in the back where the sensor is mounted. Some vehicles come without brake sensors, best thing to do is call local dealer, supply them with your VIN and ask them if it comes with sensors. What were the repairs done to your brakes ? What is the problem after the repair was done ? You may only need to bleed the complete system if calipers were replaced.

My Audi A4, 2.4 1998 model. Does not want to start it seems as though there is no power going to the fuel pump. Any suggestions please.

You checked the fuel pump for power and verified there is no power to the pump? Remember the pump only runs for about 1 second unless the engine starts.

Audi A4, 58 plate, 2ltr, 211ps version, ecs and epc warning lights flickered and then came on together, engine running lumpily at low revs (<2000rpm), any ideas anybody?

You need to take the car into the dealer or a well equipped repair shop and have the control module scanned for faults. This takes a very special tool, this is not the little $35 code readers that parts stores sell.

I have a 1998 audi a4. it will not start and gives me the p1749 and p1625 codes. how do i fix this?

code p 1625 refers to CAN databus, TCM--incorrect signal===causes --TCM trouble code/s stored---TCM incorrectly coded---wiring---matching resistor in ECM I don't have a listing for code p 1749 but codes 1748 and 1750 are concerned with TCM defective and voltage supply low so after you check the wiring and connections form the transmission you have 2 options use a known good ECM to replace yours ( will eliminate any ECM faults) and/or replace the TCM module on the transmission

1998 adui a4 oil ligth come on oil level OK th oil has just being change

If no noises from engine it's likely possible that the oil pressure switch went bad. If you don't change you oil often there's a possibility that there may be sludge build up and possibly clogging the pick up. If you go more than the recommended amount of mileage/time between oil changes I would recommend an engine flush.
