try a fuel filter first

joecoolvette must not ever been near an A4 Audi. Although his outline of the serpentine belt change is correct, you can't get to on an A4. Check out AudiWorld Tech Articles, Chris Hansen has a nice post there on Serpentine Belt Tensioner Replacement that would address most of this question.

Check your transmission fluid. If you have not changed it in 75,000 miles change it. This is the cheapest fix before you look at more expensive repairs.

check for the air filter choked,then fuel filter and fuel pump.do the fuel pressure test.

Check your chassis grounds

the cambelt timing is possibly 1 tooth out or alternatively cam sensor was not plugged back in

Sounds like your ignition switch shorted out - all of those functions only work with the ignition on. I'm betting your parking lights still work right? Change the ignition switch and I think you'll be set.

check your relay for flasher

Maybe the fuse? get a test light and while someone steps on the brake check to see if your getting power. do this a few time; on-off on-off.

In2 = INSPECTION 2 (Inspection service)

1. Press and hold button [A] in the picture below.



2. Switch ignition ON.
3. The letters "OIL" will appear in the trip recorder display.
4. Release button [A].
5. Press and release button [A].
6. The letters "INSP" will appear in the trip recorder display.
7. Pull out button [B] for approximately 2 seconds to reset the display.
