You probably already know that removing the retainer nut is necessary but not sufficient.
There is a puller tool made for this job. It has a six-armed casting (arranged for 3 and 4 bolt patterns) with a large screw having a tapered end in a threaded hole in the center.
To use it, place the tapered end of the screw in the corresponding center hole on the end of the crankshaft, then run bolts through the slots in the arms into the threaded holes in the plate part of the pulley. Hand tighten the bolts until they are evenly tensioned (you may need to run the center screw in or out to get the proper reach on the bolts). Once the tool is installed, tighten the center screw with a wrench or socket. This will pull the casting away from the crankshaft, and the pulley with it. There will be half-moon or box-shaped retainer key in a slot on the crankshaft; that is what jams the pulley into place. You might be able to reuse it, but replacement is recommended to make sure the pulley doesn't come off.

first check to see if the supintine belt is tight next take the car to a local parts store to have the alternator tested in the car if boyh are good then the powerstearing pump is a possible problem seeings how it shuts off while turning. but its probably a bad belt. if the belt looks good with no cracks thgen tighten the belt(s) and see if it still does it

it could be a computer but most likely its the coil or ignition module, or crank sensor if your car has one. Testing will confirm what is at fault.
My 1986 plymouth reliant car runs very rough,
the MAP or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is just one of the components that send signals to the on-board computer.fault codes are stored and can be 'read' with a diagnostic tool.or by using a key on, key off sequence described in detail in a repair manual.
