Replaced thermostat and new coolant on 2004 suzuki
there are only 2 ways to overheat, and vast causes !1: engine making too much heat.a: eg. cam/spark timiing way off. eg retarded timing does that.2: Cooling system failure.just 2. finding out which one takes tests.I do my engine checks first.A; compression. okb; timing right.C: egr closing,d: cat not melted closed down (huge backpressure, "guaged"then when happy my engines happy, I then attack the cooling system.Thermostat new, and not put in wrong, wax side to input side,RTM, bleed hole high (jiggle pin, etc)I use an IR pyro gun $15 to check ALL rad tubes top and bottomso see if one or more is clogged,, this is easy, ask.does it over heat parked at a read lightdoes it never fail moving fast.these are the top clues.only fails A/C on?fans all work, some have 3 on A/C cars up front.the question is, , is the stalling caused by overheating or is only a victim. only you know that, as you are driving.if you see bad running before the oveheat, then its just that.is the car pinging?engines that ping overheat and blow pistons.engines that overheat can ping.but in the latter, it overheats FIRST.see?
