1991 Plymouth Acclaim - Page 7 Questions & Answers
I have no signals and when brakes lights are on,
Hi!!
If you activate the turn signal switch and you step on the brake pedal, the turn switch (on the steering column) deactivates the brake light to make the signal light more visible. The bulb for the stop and turn lights is the same.
Turn hazard lights ON. If they don't blink, replace turn/hazard flasher, If one or more lights don't come on, replace bulb.
Check fuse and circuit wiring for broken or loose connections. If all looks fine, check following:
If front turn lights work fine, check brake/turn bulbs.
If turn lights come on but don't blink, replace turn signal/hazard flasher.
If front and back turn lights don't come on, replace switch on column.
Let me know how it worked out, Good Luck
I did a tune up but now 94 plymouth acclaim will
Check to ensure that all ignition wires are properly seated...especially the coil wire at the distributor. make sure there are no disconnected ground wires at the source of your sparkplug wires. and... check to see if the spark plugs may have a different top that may not be compatible with the plug wire ends.
Use an insulated screwdriver hold handle and plug it into a plug wire. Rest the screwdriver shaft a quarter inch from some bright metal on the engine and have someone crank the engine. You should have a spark off the gap between driver and grounded part. If not, begin looking at ground wire from battery and engine to frame ground link usually a braided metal cable.
Where is the fuel pump relay located in 1991
the relay that controls the fuel pump is in something the manual calls a MPI Control Relay (Multi-Point Injection). This relay seems to handle a couple of different things and it is located almost directly behind the ash tray, below the radio, etc. On car, if you take out the ash trash you can see a small golden can directly behind it, held in with one screw. That's the relay.

The fuel pump relay for a 1993 Plymouth is located on a post just above and behind the battery.
thanks.keep updated.
My 1991 plymouth acclaim went dead and won't
I had the same problem with my 1991 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0 liter engine. Check to see if your SBEC (computer located next to car battery) has gone out. Replacing it should solve your problem.
Where is the starter
The starter is mounted to the bell housing which is the part of the transmission (transAXLE in your case) that the engine bolts to. It's almost always on the same side as the battery toward the bottom of the bell housing. There should be a (BIG) wire going directly from the battery straight to it.
New battery does not keep car running when battery
First you should never repeat never disconnect a battery with the car running. That was a test for cars with generators, you can cause computer and ignition problems when you do this. That is why your alternator checks out fine. Depending on what your car is doing will determine what and how to test it to solve your problem. Cars newer than 1977 can have several things that can happen by disconnecting the battery when the car is running. If you could give some details on what the problems are that you are experiencing we should be able to guide you in repairing your car.
Whre is the power steering pump located?
Hi,
Your engine belt drives this pump, along with some other of your engine components. You should be able to identify a cap on the power steering pump, which is used to check the power steering fluid level.
Hope this was helpful... Good luck!
