Power window diagram for 1992 mercury capri
Several things can cause the window not to work. If you use the switch and there is noise from the door, any noise, but the window does not go up or down properly, the regulator has probably suffered damage. It is a cable driven system, and the cables sometimes pull off the part that attaches to the window, the cables snarl, and that is that. You would need a rebuilt or used regulator to replace yours.
If you use the switch and no noise is evident, that switch may be defective. Sometimes they can be taken apart and the contacts cleaned to make it work.
These two things cause 99% of window problems with the Capri. FYI the motor cannot be replaced separately

1992 mercuey capri headlight will not open.were do i start?
The motor in the headlight is probably dirty and corroded with age. They are not available new, perhaps a rebuilt one off ebay? It takes a 10 mm wrench and a good phillips screwdriver to remove the assembly and replace the motor...good luck...

What could be problem
1) Master power window switch on the driver door may be bad.
2) Make sure the passenger door master switch has the passenger door switch enabled. If the switch on the passenger door wont raise the window, you probably have a bad window regulator. If it raises the window then the master switch is bad.
3) If the window makes noises when you use the switch and doesn;t raise, then the regulator is bad, Check EBAY for sales, that's where you or your mechanic can find them...Chris

Will idle but when ingage clutch and give it gas it spits and sputters and dies?
Sounds like coil packs are shot! Suggest replace and it should run great. The coil pack it what sets the fuel injectors to perform at peak proficiency on post 1990s cars because they did away with the distributor & rotor (use to be able to just turn distributor to rev it up or down "my wife use to be able to adjust the old ones".)

Coil not firing
Make sure the coil is getting power. Then you would need to check the crankshaft sensor for continuity after unplugging it. If the coil is getting power and the crankshaft sensor is tested good, then the brain box must be dropping the signals.

Manual
Could be bad ignition switch in the steering column, try keeping the key turned and wiggle it a little, it may find a spot good enough to get the starter going.Maybe bad wire to the starter solenoid, or cruddy connection at the solenoid.A manual transmission must have the clutch pushed in to start. If the switch connected to the clutch is bad, the car won't start.Good luck...Chris

Passenger window won't go up
Could be two things, bad switch or messed up regulator in the door. If the passenger door switch does not operate the window properly, and neither does the driver switch, then you need another regulator. They can be rebuilt, but its a real pain to do. Ebay has used ones for $50 to $75. Defective switches can be taken apart and cleaned. Good luck,,,Chris

Where is my tail light bulb located
This is pretty easy...you can do this! Open the trunk, lean in and you can see the wires leading to the tail light, it is the far left wires for the left signal and the far right wires for the right tail light. Grasp the socket that the wires are connected to, twist, and the socket comes out with the bulb. Take the bulb to the store and buy another one.Better yet, the folks at Autozone will actually help you replace bulbs when you buy one there and it's as quick as this to replace...good luck...Chris

I have a 1993 mercury
Most after market replacement alternators have the wrong pulley installed...the shafts are different sizes, so you cannot even use your old pulley. Best is to have the original alternator rebuilt. Alternative is to use a heavy duty industrial belt, like a Gates...not a perfect solution, but it will help...good luck...Chris

How do you remove the
I'm sure you have figured this out by now, 6 months later, but here goes...3 screws hold the handle in, 2 you can see, phillips, and one hidden by a trim piece that extends across the front of the top, left to right. That trim can be pried out with a screwdriver...it is held in place at 4 points...keep prying, it WILL come out. After replacing the latch just pop that trim piece back on, it just pushes into place...good luck...Chris

My drivers side Headlight won't
Not sure if they are interchangable. Usually the motor is good, just needs a cleaning.Remove the motor, paying attention to the relationship of the crank that attaches the motor to the light. Remove 3 screws and the motor comes apart. There is a circular copper area that electrical contacts run on the make the motor behave properly. Clean up the copper with fine sandpaper, and clean the finger contacts also. Reassemble and it may work. Check it for proper operation before putting at all back together again...Good luck...ChrisDirty
