Not shifting

Any transmission trouble code will put the trans in second gearand it won\'t shift. Key on-off-on-off-on without starting the engine will illuminatethe check engine light .It will flash out the codes.Should see a 55code ,5 flashes,a pause then 5 more. Any codes other than 12 and55 need recorded for further diagnnosis.I was thinking that turning the key on and opening the throttle wide open 4 times within 5 seconds (engine off)clears tranny codes, not sure about that tho. You might try it then drive it and see if it shifts, although as soon as the malfunction happens again it will go back into limp mode.Tranny slipping or a slow shift or converter lock up malfunction along with many other things will trigger this.

This is a tough one some of the older models had a small plastic round cover at the bottom inside, you remove the cover to gain acces to lever to pop open door, other wise you will have to remove the door panel from the inside to get to latch,

Can you show me where the starter is located on a

Take a look at the photo....

In this photo, it is the 3.0L engine. The starter is right next to the oil filter. There is a bracket there with an "X", to the left of it is the starter. Location is in the front, closest to the grill of the van. Same for the 3.8L and the 2.4L (it'll be close to the A/C compressor.).

All my gauges are not working, just replaced battery. what ground connections could cause this

None. Each gauge is grounded thru its own sending unit. You could have a blown gauges fuse, or a wiring problem coming into the back of the cluster.

My 99 Plymouth grand voyager has a recurring brakes problem. What could be wrong?

Fixed--- I don't think so !!3 Mechanics-that is sadHow about the power brake booster? Was that checked & the vacuum check valve okey? You wouldn't be happy if that solved the issue & yougot the valve off the wall on a trip thru the parts store& installed yourselfWhat about ABS Issues? What happens if you command the valves openwith a scan tool, bleed system & test drive with scannerand valves still open or disconnect the motor to it & drive around a few days.I remember a load leveler valve under the back onthe drivers side on some caravans? The fluid has to go somewhere,if not back into the reservoir, then the abs unit maybe.Better check the not leaking part yourself, unless you don'tloose any fluidYou bleed them there okey for 3 days, why, that is the key, then what?

SURPENTINE BELT SHREDS

I think the crankshaft harmonic balancer pulley is coming apart and causing the belt to walk off and shred, it is the common reason.
