Shifter stuck in park

The "brake shifter switch" (brake light switch) is located underneath the dashboard, and links directly to the brake pedal assembly. If you look, you will be able to find the switch. It is the same switch that releases the lock solenoid on your shifter. If your brake lights are working, it is not the culprit. Check the shift lock solenoid for proper operation instead.

Check and see if you have spark at the spark plugs. Also replace the full filter, finally have someone check the computer fault codes.

Misfire in 2002 mercury 4.6. tested coil its good. low comp. on # 7. any help

Low compression can come from 3 places. Intake valve, exhaust valve or rings. Squirt some 30 weight oil in the spark plug hole and retest the compression. If it goes up the rings are worn. If not then a valve is leaking.

What causes air hose collapses and gets pinched off of 2002 mountaineer. around intake carb area

Collapsed hose indicate the pressure on one side is much lower than the other, in this case the intake or suction side is very strong and since the air its pulling into the engine is not sufficient i.e. both sides are not equal, the hose collapses. Most likely you have an air restriction in the hose someplace, could be a really badly clogged air filter, or an obstruction in the air intake at the front of the vehicle where the air intake scoop is. Check that line carefully you'll probably find something in there someplace.

2002 mercury mountaineer

one simple thing it could be is that with all wheel drive's it's critical that the owner keep all the same model and size tire on all four corner's and this is the tough one they gotta have the same (and correct) air pressure in them, the sensors for the power split for AWD does not cope well with these simple things not all the same and will cause what i have Knick named " Chuckwaggoning" as it feels as your car is now a wooden wagon on the oregon trail if you have it . other than that ck for fault codes in ecm with code checker it might tell you a wheel sensor is faulted .

4.0 MOUNTAINEER RAN HOT AND shutoff turns over but will not crank what can be the problem?

Have a compression test done. if your vehicle overheated there's a good chance the cylinder head gasket gave out. A compression test will confirm or dismiss a head gasket problem.

Where is the window regulator located on my 2002 mercury moutaineer

OK, Odd question, but it is connected to the window, as well as the inside of the door frame. After you remove the door panel and insulation you will see to flat long rods with pulleys and cables with the motor connected to it to raise and lower the window. 22e8cd1d-7e79-4ae7-af6e-e4337bfce2de.jpg
