Temperature goes high without overheating

I am immediately inclined to think that the thermostat you currently have installed is the wrong one for your van. If it isn't overheating, then the thermo is opening at a hotter level than normal. Either that, or the thermo you have is opening late. If you want an easy test to see if this is the issue, remove the hose that goes to the thermostat, remove the thermostat, put the hose back, fill up whatever water came out and drive it around for awhile and see if it made a difference. If it now seems to open cooler, then the thermo needs to be replaced. If that doesn't work and it still seems the same, I would check the water pump or the belt that goes to it to make sure they are working correctly

Security alarm on so car won't start

24,
Try locking/unlocking the passenger door with the key into the door lock to reset the alarm system. If the passenger side doesn't work, then try the driver side. Good luck.

1998 Town & Country Dash Buttons are Flashing on and off

set it on full cold, set it to panel vents, blower motor to high. hold the wash and rear wiper buttons on the control head until all the lights come on. it will run through different tests, different lights will flash and alternate, and when it is done the rear wiper button will flash if everything passed. push it and everything will go out. if other lights still flash when it is done, you have failed the cooldown test because the a/c doesn't work right, or a door calibration did not pass.

Can I replace the transmission solonoid on a 98 Town and Country Van without resetting the computer?

It depends. Are there codes in the computer now? Has it bee reset since you replaced the input speed sensor? If the codes are still in there, the transmission may still be in limp-in mode.Your transmission is computer controlled. Trying to diagnose or repair it without the ability to interface with the computer that controls it about the same as surfing the internet with no monitor. If you push the right buttons and click your mouse just right, you might get to the page you are looking for (not likely, but possible). However, when you do get there, you still won't know it....

Battery light stays on 1998 chy.t/w

Hello,
The battery light is to let you know you have a problem with your charging system.
It could be the battery, the alternator, an electrical short in the wiring.

If you start the vehicle, and the engine will continue to run, it's not the alternator.
Get the vehicle checked just as soon as you can so you don't wind up on the side of the road.

I hope this helps you.
