Check for spark to the plugs and fuel to the injectors. A scanner would help to find a problem. First start by spraying a little starting fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, then check fuel pressure. You may have a bad pump or relay. If no spark, problem could be a bad sensor or bad connection to a module.

You can fix it by checking the disk and removing the error

Sure you can drive it. Only problem is the radio may have a security code if you pull the fuze you'll need the code...it should come w/ the owners manual.... if not then you gotta take out the deck and there should be a serial number behind the deck which will tell you the code for the deck. Or the dealer can help with the vin and a ID that you own the car. Best to you.

Sadly, for a vehicle of this vintage, even a locksmith would have to call the company, probably pay a fee which he would pass along, just to get the "pin" for the vehicle. Using a locksmith to do this is very likely considerably cheaper than having a dealer do such. That's my experience.regarding even a 2007 vehicle.

the car needs service. takes tools to diagnose no starts. lots all fuses good.? will it start with 5%(at tad) right foot depressed? on throttle. IMMO lamp glowing on the dash and ignored? immoblizer. lamp in the cluster. per the users guide (lost)>? there are up to 50 causes. check for spark?

More information please. What exactly do you mean by "smoked some"? How heavy was the smoke, was it thicker and heavier than normal? Did it have colour to it like a dense white or a blue tint? This information gives clues to the problem. The engine spinning but not starting is commonly a 'No spark' issue but if you can get it to run some of the time it could be a faulty sensor. Do you have any warning lights on the dash? It could be worth you getting it scanned with an OBD2 scanner to look for trouble codes. These give clues to any faulty sensors. If you have to pay for this service ask at 4 or 5 places as prices can be VERY different. Why do you need access to the fuses under the stereo? These are not normally a common set of fuses that cause issues. The fuse panels most commonly used in an MDX are under the hood, left side trim panel (nearest the door hinge) in the driver's footwell and in the left side trim panel in the truck.

THE VIN NUMBER TELLS WHAT CAR IT IS THE VIN#8 DIGIT THE ENGINE I'D HAVE SPARE NEW HOSE FOR THE FIRST ONE REMOVED TO THE STAT, THAT OLD HERE IS 97 MODEL CL COMING OFF 12/13MM HEADS SEEMS (HEX) THE BOLTS ARE METRIC. NEEDS SERVICE FOR SURE THOSE 2. OR battery cables tight and clean, jumper cable start it if starter is dead? CHECK ALL FUSES, CAB/BAY SCAN THE pCM OBD2 PORT FOR DTC ERRORS, AND SRS TOO MAY BE THE BATTERY (UNDER HOOD)_ IS WEAK OR A FAILING ALTERNATOR. 'COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN MEANS ENGINE STALLED? WELL IF THE BATTERY DIES, THE EFI DIES AND IF IT DIES ENGINE STALLS AND MOST TIMES WILL NOT CRANK UP AGAIN. no engine told, and is a 100% engine question no country told making the engine guess 10x more easy or no VIN and 8th digit is engine code. 3.5L RL? V6 (seen in USA?) the steps are the same on all cars but 1, the gain access step. also 20 year old coolant is no good at all

1. drain all coolant
2. gain access to STAT Disconnect any sensors or switches that may interfere with the removal of the thermostat from the housing.
3. remove STAT housing hose.
4. remove STAT housing, (unbolts)
5. remove STAT
6. put in new STAT , not a backwards and bleed hole must be upward side. with new SEAL
7. bolt it down. Hose back on.
8. Rad cap off
9. fill up coolant 50%AF (i uses Prestone ALL CAR)
10. burp out all air
11. cap back
12. drain out side tank and refill 1/2 way with 50%$AF
