2000 atomatic subaru leg when it shifts into gear it shifts hard
There is a drain plug on the transmission pan for draining, I would check the transmission mounts, they may be broken, a good way to do this is stick a crowbar between the transmission and cross frame and pull down raising the rear of the transmission, if they are broken you will see them separate.

Standard transmission has trouble with first gear on an incline
Interesting problem. The gear shift is run by levers and rods, not cables. I suspect that there are problems with
a) the rear gearbox mount (e.g. broken); or.and
b) engine mounts (broken or loose)
that allows the engine/trans to move fwd/back, and this is affecting the gear shift linkage.
You should also check the clutch pedal freeplay.
I doubt there is ANY problem with the standard transmission.

I have a Subaru Legacy B4 Twin Turbo 2.0ltr. It
indicates several problems
first is that the scan tool has not got the right protocols for reading the Subaru ECM as there are fuel mixture faults recorded
next check the vacuum hose to the turbo vane actuators and that the vanes are free to move
next check for loose interchanger hoses and holes in the intercooler

My engine light is on, on my 2000 Subaru Legacy l.code are po420 and po171, They said to add gas cleaner but light still on. Any suggestion, much appreciated. Thank you:
code p 0420 refers to cat converter system bank 1 --efficiency below threshold ===causes ---cat converter faulty---wiring --- heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
I would be inclined to check the cat converter as the report is generated by the oxygen sensor to the ECM in that the desired results from a correct mixture are not with parameters
code p 0171 refers to system too lean bank 1===causes--intake /exhaust manifold leak---air system---fuel pressure / pump---MAF/VAF sensors---injectors--HO2S
the connection here could be a cracked flex section of the exhaust pipe before the cat converter
it would give both codes
bothe codes refer to the same bank
forget the fuel cleaner idea as a fix as it is not relevant to the codes

I have a 2000 Subaru Legacy that overheats!
there should be no pressure in a system when the engine is cold
the cap is designed to allow extra pressure to blow off into the over flow reservoir and as the system cols down there is a vacuum created in the cooling system which opens a valve in the radiator cap and draws coolant back from the reservoir
I suggest that yo have a radiator shop test the cap for operation and get a new cap

Does a 2000 subaru legacy have a fuel injection relay ? if so, where is it ?
without a service manual, the endless places it could be, on the firewall, under neath the dash, on the fender wheels, on the fuel injections ports, on the side of motor, in the rear of car near the fuel tank, where every the manufacture want to save money or time.

My 2000 subaru legacys motor sounds and smells like its loadig up with fuel
They had a tendency to have fuel lines go bad. There are 2 or 3 small lines, all the same if I remember, one to the fuel rail in particular that would go bad and leak. That could explain the small (especially when you turn on the AC) but not sure what you mean by saying it sounds like it is loadig up with fuel.

Shudder after bump
Could be one of several things. Lower Control arm bushings, Swaybar endlinks or Struts. If you are getting a rather serious shudder, I would lean towards the Struts.

2000 subaru legacy ignition coil fires only on one side
Have you changed the engine? I put a 2001 engine in a 2000 and had to change the timing belt pullies that corispond to the 2 crank angle sensors because the 2001 had 2 tabs on the pully to activate the coil and the 2000 had 4 tabs. It had the same problem you discribe.
