I have a transmission problem..on my 1996 mercury villager..what i`ve done so far i change the transmission filter then when i do the road test it takes a while to shift from the 3rd gear and up . Can

the windows you are probably having an issue with the regulators or the window relays. the transmission it's self if you aren't getting a code in the computer stating that it's slipping then it's just wearing out but not completely worn yet. if you've changed the fluid and filter then you have done all you can, the transmission fluid and filter needs to be changed every 12,000 -14,000 miles normally to maintain a healthy and clean transmission , an easy way to tell if it's about gone would be to check the fluid, if it's brown or smells like it's been cooked then it may be time to consider a rebuild

Fuel smell inside car when using heater especially on a cold day or when stopping the car

This is a somewhat common problem on Nissan products. The V6 engine has several small rubber hoses connecting the fuel lines, and when it is cold weather the hoses leak fuel. The heater - defroster picks up the fumes from the outside vent under the windshield. When you are moving the fumes flow under the van.If you can find the leak sometimes you can just tighten up a clamp or two.

1996 mercury villager / pump wont run

The only way to actually check as you said, which meansusing at least a volt meter to me, to do actual voltage checks,is to have a wiring diagram of the system & circuits your haveproblems withThe pump works,so I guess you put battery voltage to itsomewhere in the circuit that is complete or at the pumpNo voltage at whatever fuses your at,you now work your way to the battery with the use of a wiring diagramSounds like a corrosion or wiring connection issues, given the year 1996What I don't see in your question is the main issueSounds like you went from the pump back toward thefuses & battery & the beginning of the fuel pump circuit isdeadI guess you removed & tested the relays (component tested)Haven't missed much, just have to continue, but can't find &test what you don't know about, need that reference material

96 Mercury Villager gas leak from front drviers side

A somewhat common problem on Nissan cars and imports that use clamps for fuel lines. Altho not usually that major.Often times the rubber fuel hoses leak in very cold weather. The fuel lines going to the tank are on the driver side. So is the fuel filter.I have to tighten up a clamp every winter on my 98 Villager when the temp drops below 30 degrees. If the leak is major enough to leave a puddle on the ground you should have no problem finding it.

I know how ABS works, but what is this abnormal abs sound when I press the brake pedal also on dry asfalt. Sound becomes likely before vehicle stops.

this is the pump motor pulsing the pressure to each wheel at about a 100 times a second if your base brakes are in good condition and you have no abs light or codes stored in the system then this may be normal function

ABS noise

Under hard braking the ABS Antilockbrake system is designed to stop brakes locking the wheels and skidding. if you get vibration under hard braking this is the unit working correctly. If it's your brakes making the noises then check the disc pads for wear and/ or replace as required
