Speedometor needs replaced.

4wd? which tranny? some are 2wd, you know that? we can not guess that. and the seal is free, the labor is 99.9999% of the cost. if you work on 4wd cars, you learn fast what labor means. ROB, the jeep dealer sells it, and is on line and you can see the cost there, any time , anywhere on earth (WWW) here is the link. to one of 100s. my 5 jeeps, 88 to now all have 5/6speed and 4wd what is yours? ive not a clue. is the transfer case leaking (if you even have one) is the trans leaking, rear.? as you say.? on mine, if the tranmission rear leaks oil, its not the transmission leaking because , only the transfer case can leak, see? it replaces the tranny seal with the transfer case. on one old jeep the front xtransfer case seal can leak to the center section. so look under your car , and tell us, exactly the spot of the leak. even a photo speaks 1000 words , or more for leaks. what i do is clean it first, drive 10 miles then look. wind and gravity are not our friends here. In some cases, its better to just let it leak but again, no drive line options stated at all ,so can NOT advise.

This is not a great thing at all. The 95 uses the same system as mine , which is a linkage that controls the transfer case. You have to get under the vehicle and check that linkage. It may have come loose and now the lever will not pull it out of 4wd.

first check fuses,relays, and power connections -if good than check the control module for the 4wd check connections and for power ,next check the transfer case look at the actuator and casing for damage and or disconnected wires if u can use a rubber mallet do not hit with metal hammer [can damage crack housing] tap around actuator sometimes rod sticks a light tap makes it move gear out of 4wd

Depends on which motor you have, but all motors may have suffered from overheating. Aluminum cylinder heads crack faster than cast iron, and Jeep used alum. heads in 95. Remove your oil fill cap and inspect. If it looks like coffee with creamer on the inside, You may have had the motor compromised - meaning there may be a crack from the water/coolant passage into the oil passage. If it is questionable, remove the oil dipstick, looking for the tan color and 'beads' which would indicate a crack somewhere. If the oil is black, you should be ok - if not, it may be cheaper ( and faster ) to replace the motor, as the block may have cracked instead of ( or in addition to) the ( a ) cylinder head. there are 2 ways to install a radio, (skipping hacked in) 1: the stock car adapter kit, sold everywhere even walfart. 2: or using the sony , install sheet and wire names match those to car, names. easy huh? ground to ground. +12vdc wire to same , ignition on. power. memory wire to memory wire. dial light to same. no brakes at all. did you check fluid levels? yet? both went dry? leaking DOT3 fuid, in the system, this take looking at every inch of system. or fail. can the brake pedal be pumped up is the pedal hard,? dont drive it. double posted, but now we know its a 95 chickodee. do a tune up,. ever? ever do the critical 60k mile tune up? 60,120,180k etc>? engine misifre, is that what you have? (rough engine?) are you parked or moving.????????

my guess, car unseen. car has an A/T trans, and all A/T jump from park to drive selection is made on a cold engine, due to the very fast idle speed. what was the park and cold idle speed. and out door temps. the lower out door temps, make idle speed , cold engine, even higher but when the engine reaches 180F or more and holds, the RPM is about 800 RPM (the FSM tells the exact amount and does vary for the unstated engine option) so at 800 the tranny don;t lurch, did it on a hot engine. so if idle speeds are wrong say so and say it with engine temps. or its all meaningless. next : runs rough, the engine (even parked?) is called misfire. misfire on a good engine (full compression) is: 1: bad spark (or never had a tune up ever) every 60k miles. 2: bad fueling. too rich, too lean (low idle) bad injectors (stuck or clogged, or wrong fuel pump pressure or bad Fuel pressure regulator) 3: bad fuel. there is a test for each possible failure. all very simple test. it takes $80 in gauge tools to find engine problems.

Silly jeeps,had one like that also,If you have a remote key fob,lock and unlock with that,if not try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key. Only thought I've got.
