The error is means there is an issue with the torque converter on the transmission. It may be stuck. It is safe to drive it but there may be issues with the milage.

needs a tune up, i bet the CEL lamp glowed, and you ignored it running. right>? tune it up. he will find that and charge you double. 1 for the find 2 for the tune,

Suggest you check out the Ody Forums. This could be a lot of different things, and getting the engine code is critical. There's an inexpensive code reader you can buy on ebay by searching for OBD2 and bluetooth. They connect to a smartphone via bluetooth and can read all the engine codes. check fuse !!! only>? or no heat at all? if one side is good that means the dampers are failing the dampers are controlled on newer cars via damper motors. on older cars cable (and gawd forbid vacuum) the Factory FSM covers this , buy one. or go to alldata.com and look, like we all do.... no guessing read it. read the HVAC sections. its all there, all the fails and tests. all day , all the time.
