Where is the AC compressor
As you are standing at the passenger side of the vehicle (right side) the compressor is the pulley seen from under the front the engine and to the right of the front of the engine as seen on the diagram. There will probably still be a black cover protecting the under side of the engine. Go ahead and remove it.

My son has a 2005
Thank you for writing all the info needed and the problem to make it easy for me to help you, this problem may be a motor but as like you i dont think the washer and sensor and motor would go out, i have enclosed pictures of the fuse boxes you will need to check, this car has four of them, you will first check the fuse, theres a 30amp fuse located in the engine compartment, you will locate the fuse which controls the wiper module, if theres no power to this module nothing will work, check fuse at location F-17 this will be a 30amp fuse for the wiper module. the diagram will show you the fusebox location and the fuse location, the next place is behind glovebox theres another fuse/relay box, theres a picture of that box also, you will be looking for postion F-48this is the relay for the wipermotor, you will need to swap another relay with the wiper relay to test it.good day and hope this is helpful.

1. do you have a button on the steering column to release the key? some do, down from the key.
2. try to move the steering wheel right and left; there is a wheel lock in the column; to get it out.
3. if all else fails, you need to replace the lock. sorry

2005 Volvo s40 2.4i stalls when iddling
When an issue such as this occurs, you have a faulty TPS-throttle position sensor, and it needs to be replaced. The replacement is fairly simply, and you may be able to get the part at an auto parts store. The TPS is located on the throttle body.

I had my rear brake pads replaced and now have a
There should be an adjustment to take up the slack in the parking brake cable. Although, If the brakes were properly serviced, there should not be any looseness in the brake pads. There are sprays and stick on pads that go on the back of brake pads to prevent rattles and squeaking. It would necessitate removing the brake caliper and brake pads. Personally, I would take it back to the shop that did the job and make them fix it. New pads should not rattle.

Just purchased used 2004.5 S40 T5. Both Low beams
If it is not the bulbs (which is possible) you will have to trace the wiring to see where you are loosing power. We have replaced 3 Central Electric Modules (CEM) in the last 6 months. If you need a wiring diagram, let me know.

Volvo s40 t5 2005, water
Most likely the sunroof drains are clogged. It happened to mine, the floormats and floors were soaked, especially behind the drivers side. Volvo wanted to charge me $550 to clear them out and dry out the floors. Instead I took it home, rolled down the windows, parked it in the sun and let it dry out. Then I found a mechanic who blew out the drains with compressed air for only $20. He had originally quoted me $50-100, but ended up doing it for less. He said the two back drains are clogged. You can try sticking a small flexible wire down the front two yourself, then pour water down to see if it drains properly out the bottom of the car. When I looked I didn't see the two back sunroof drains, but my mechanic said they were clogged with leaves, you might be able to clear these yourself too. I would have never guessed that it was the sunroof causing this, because you don't see the water leak around the sunroof, you only see the water backing up on the floor. Don't take it to the dealership, it's a simple job and they will rip you off.

Fuel filter location
Hello jazief1: My name is Roger and I will help you. Volvo has done what GM and chrysler have done. They eliminated the fuel filter . They do not require a filter replacement as the only stainer is now part of the fuel pump module. The only way to replace this filter is to replace the fuel pump module assembly. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Need to change the left side low beam headlight.
It might be hard to get to like that. You will see a silver metal bar with a 90 degree angle at the top that goes straight down behing the headlight assembly, which you can pull up on. It holds the headlight in. Once you pull this up pust the headlight slightly sideways as there is a plug holding the headlight in at the back, then just pull forward to give youself space to work. Clip off the two clips and slide the back cover off then you can change the bulb out.

How do you reset the check engine light on a volvo
The Check Engine light has nothing to do with changing the oil. The light is on because there is a problem with the emissions system. Even if you reset the light it will just come back on unless the problem causing it to come on is repaired. You will need to have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. That tool will retrieve the code that has been set by the ECU. The code will tell you what part is being effected, but not necessarily what part or parts are defective. To determine that takes training, experience, and diagnostic skills. I suggest you seek professional help. If the engine is running fine there is no hurry but if it is not running as it should, then do not put this off.
