2002 Suzuki XL7 - DRL headlights won't come on - not fuses
yes heat is always a cause, heat wrecks all things many makes faster (electric)
DRL love to fail is this up in canada, , it is not law USA to have it.
he law here ended 2010 on DRL junk.(proven not to work)
many cars have a DRL module and the pins on it look burnt
and is bad. ALL DRL on suzuki seen by me to 2000 did that
no sure 02
DRL has relays to fail or even hand brakes switch too.
the 2 rules on DLR are
hand brake must turn off and lamps on, no kind of brake failure allowed,
and
no GEN?/ALT/Batteyr lamp failure in cluster
this last bit of logic allows driving further DLR off, and dead alternator in car..
or bad relays. H.L

Car doesn't want to start when its cold.
loosen gas cap before starting. if it sucks air, check vent system. Gas shrinks when cooling down, and you are fighting vacuum to start. if not problem run by autozone have them check for codes
Why won't it start?
H27 no start. cranks ok.? yes.lots of reasons, want me to guess, ?over 50 in fact.1 to 10 testsand all cars stall, if not tuned up. a fact! all do. for 100 years, same deal.spark plugs bad....filtersare you asking for tests, or 1 in 50 guesses.what?see scotty below.the reason in pure physics works best for me.1: engine bad, low compression, cat melted,2: defective spark 1 or all 63: fueling issues. (weak or too much)we use tools (gauges, meters and scan tools)and go directly to the problem.find and ASE shop, so will they.in this case tow it.or watch scotty,2 choices, there. scott or tow.easy no?if sparks ok, we check fuel pressure next.see why?the PCM can not inject fuel right below say 20-30 psi. or not at all, if lower.
Truck idles very high when starting
how cold is cold???? In Alaska or Key west?tell location and bingo, i know. but didntall engines race cold for sure EPA regulated ones.and race faster the colder it iswhat is RPM see dash, see dash rpm gauge called thetachometer, use that to answeror if no tacho there, ill never know here in the cloud.no engines size statedits 85f here.2000 RPM is easy cold.here about 1500 cold (85f) but drops fast say 5min.
Wheres crankshaft sensor located
which engine,?why not post symptoms and not guess causes.?CKP is the SEA.org name for this part.was introduced in 1996 here. and up to 2006 in other countries.the 2.0L the CKP sensor is behind the flywheel (must pull transmission and flywheel to get to it)ive posted the photo of that here, on fixya 5 times. searches work.or is the engine the V6? 2.5 (H25 H27engine)did you know the PCM if scanned will report bad CKP every time.!even cranked?same is true if the CAM sensor fails, at end of CAM>the V6 engine the CKP sensor (crank) is at 7pm facing fromof the engine crank pulley housing on front if engine at front of crankshaft.if have FSM on both engines, if stated.use a scan tool and see the errors.the errors will tell you what sensor is failing if in fact they are.the tool is as cheap as $10ah heck, ill do G16g engine too (USA) the CKP sensor is at6pm below the crank-pulley on the pan flange, all USA 1996 and newer. not true in other countries.some have no CKP at ALL, A FACT.
2002 Suzuki XL7 cranking but not starting
I suggest, a more initial thing first, you change the TPS first. Reasonably cheap and easier to change as it is on the throttle on the engine. I am assume he read the codes after he hooked up his analyzer. This does give 'options' to check out to so as to cover their buts. The Dealerships charges to do this but their computers are more expensive and bigger and will tell one what it is exactly wrong. Even though the law specifies that they publish this info and make this info available to the public, none of the manufacturers do this. Snap-On, Sears, Cornwell Tools and other tool makers wish they could get this info so their computers could diagnose. It's a big problem considering it is on a computer disc and a special program which forces the car owner to refer to the.
