The best way to clean a carburetor is to take it apart, soak all pieces in lacquer thinners for a while, clean all surfaces with a soft paint brush, blow opin all holes and capillaries in jets and carb body and reassemble.

I would take your vehical to another mechanic, preferably one who knows what they are talking about. If you vehical is still behaving strangly, you may have been ripped off.

does the heater work?? Why I asked that is the "Blend" door might need to be relaced, Sounds like its blocked and wont open. the blend door blocks cold air from entering when the Heater is on.
