2002 Suzuki XL-7 - Page 3 Questions & Answers
What is the location of oil sendind unit on a 2002 Suzuki XL7. Engine is a 2.7 liter V6 so I guess that makes it a H-25?
If the diaphragm was busted and with that amount of oil lost I would be seeing oil tracks along the vehicle and under the floor pan. Also there would be a red light on for the oil pressure as the diaphragm has a spring behind it which closes the electrical points and allows the oil light to go off when pressure is above the low oil pressure setting. It may be but I would be looking else where for the problem. I would be looking at valve stem seals broken. These allow the oil to be drawn down into the cylinders when idling at lights and will come out as a puff ofsmoke when taking off and only lasts a few seconds
Trying to replace alternator on SUZUKI XL7
yes use a small socket wrench as in a 1/4 in drive i had the same problem with my echoe not a lot of room to undo bolt with a bigger ratchet...As for the belt if serpitine you need to remember how to put the belt back in there should be a tensioner pulley that you need to move to remove and replace belts however swinging alternator out of way or removing same will allow some belts to be removed if only 1
Driver side window will not go up
while opperating the switch... bang on the door to shake the power window motor a bit... This should allow you a last chance to roll the window up before you have time to get the window motor replaced.
Idle problem
If the car starts after charging but will not idle, I would suspect the alternator is defective. The alternator is fitted with a diode pack (all to do with the electrics, valve bocking AC but allowing DC to pass) this is the the part that fails.
It allows a correct current to pass to the battery (DC only)
If the car starts after charging and runs for a few miles before stopping and the evidence is a dead battery - It will definately be the alternator.
Hope this helps

How to remove differential cover
turn the axle so that the open edges of the clips are facing you. I would try using an opened spanner about the same space as the axle dia and placing the front edges against the c clip ends ,hit the other end of the spanner with a hammer to drive the c clip back wards. With a bit of luck it will stick 1/2 on and by turning the axle you will be able to use a pair of vise grips to pull it off . If the spanner is too thick to get in then make a tool out of metal the same thickness as the clip and use that instead.
My left turn signal turns wipes on and front
This is going to sound like a stupid question, but are you using the turn signal properly? The turn signals are on the left of the steering wheel and wiper controls are on the right side of the steering wheel on you car.

P0455 - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow
or large leak)
What does that mean?
This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control
system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control
system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel
vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the
engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon
the fuel vapors into the engine.
Symptoms
You likely won't notice any drivability problems.
Causes
A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
- A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
- A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
- Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system
Possible Solutions
With a p0455, the most common repair is to:
- Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and
see if the codes come back.
- Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
- Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum
noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary
