How about the fuse? Will they light with the turn signal? If they do then look at the turn signal switch.

Did you check the ASD relay ? Do you have spark and normal fuel pressure ?

stick key into the igniton cylinder, turn to start position, when engine starts, let pressure off key.

Your ignition switch is going bad. The strange noise is the starter remaining engaged and locked to the flywheel. Your best bet is to have the starter tested at your local auto parts store, to deduce that it is not, in fact, your starter.

Start by replacing thermostat.

If it's factory installed check the "cigar" fuse. Interior fuse panel, check owners manual if possible.

Do an avr test but good possibility its the alternator

If it's leaking from the gasket you'll have to replace the gasket. If coolant is leaking from the hole in the water pump body the water pump seal is leaking. The pump will have to be replaced if the seal is leaking.
