I have a 1998 Plymouth

Hi my name is Allen!

When the check engine light is on this means there is a problem somewhere in the powertrain control system, which could be almost anything.

Here is what I need you to do, drive your vehicle to AutoZone or another auto parts store near you and have them pull the codes for you. Then get back to me and let me know what those codes are, and what the scanner say the code means.

We will move further with repair procedure after I know what the code or codes are.

Waiting for your reply!

My 98 plymouth breeze won't

You may have a bad Vehicle Speed Sensor [VSS] which is mounted on the transmission. This sensor tells the computer, transmission, and dash how fast you are going and if the signal is lost then the transmission won't know when to shift and the speedometer will quit working. There should be a related service code stored in the system that will help with the diagnosis.

No 8 volt supply from pcm

You likely already checked this but how about a broken timing belt. If the cams aren't turning the cam sensor isn't working and the pcm won't fire the plugs.

Installed new fuel pump in 1998 plymouth breeze

does it have a spark at the plugs?? ,need more information ,but a rough guess is the flexable hose that connects the pump to the unit is split or perished or you just forgot to reconnect it or tighten the clip tight enough

Maybe you can help me narrow down a solution?

Most cars have an earth strap around an engine mount to allow the body to be earth through the engine back to the battery. Check that you haven't left it off when you did the mounts.

Where is the battery located

Good Evening. They really do a good job of hiding the battery don't they. It is located in front of your drivers tire. There is a plastic part of the wheel well that comes out, and unfortunately the tire has to come off to get it out. Glad to help.
Thanks,
Joey
