How to change a timing belt with a 2.4ltr motor?

Lift the car on lift and remove right tire . Remove front engine mount on the timing cover. Remove timing cover. Align the top timing mark on camshaft to the mark on back cover. Crankshaft will align automatically. Lose the belt tensioner and remove the belt. I will suggest to replace the water pump and the seal on the camshaft and crankshaft. Install the belt and turn by hand crankshaft twice. make sure the marks align again. Install the cover, mount, serpentine belt.refill coolant. Bleed the system and run the engine till warm and radiator fan start. Cool and check the coolant level again. good luck

I have a 1998 Plymouth Breeze that has no fire to the #2 and #3 cylinders.

Now you do a Cylinder Leak Down Test, to see if you have a valve problem & they actually seal Then you check the timing belt Besides replacing parts What data was looked at? What was tested & how?

Battery goes dead after 3hrs turn off key

The battery is weak and the alarm and other system is trickling out the little charge the battery can hold where it gets below a certain point that it will start the car or there is a short in the system. You could check this by pulling out the fuses one by one to see which system is draining the power but this could be time consuming and there may be several such as the alarm, the radio, and more. If you have an amp that is staying on this will kill a battery fast, even the radio. The alternator could be weak so one would need to test this to see the voltage from the alternator when running but i really don't suspect it. A corroded battery post terminal will reduce cranking voltage by 80 percent. One way to test an alternator typically is when the vehicle is running place a wrench on the back and if it is magnetized (it pulls the wrench to the alternator) then the alternator is charging. Not certain this works on all but is typical of Chev. Look at charging up a dead battery with fake salt on youtube perhaps. Dont pay for any more batteries. East Coast Canada Rocks!!! Good luck.

I'm having overheating problems in

if you have 2 fans, one is for the ac,, you could have a sticking relay to the fan ,, and you might want to get a thermostat with a lower heat range so the thing opens sooner, remember that when installing the thermostat ,, the spring end goes towards the motor
