2000 Mercury Villager Questions & Answers
Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 Mercury villager
I'm assuming it's a fuel injected engine. If so, and you can't see an in-line filter after tracing the lines, it's probably in the fuel tank. If the fuel supply, return, and vent hoses go to the top of the tank, pull the carpeting or back seat, whichever is above the tank, and look for a screw down plate. When you remove the plate, it will give you access to the housing for those items.

Transmission slipping at low speeds
Have the filter inside the transmission changed. If that doesn't solve the problem then the clutch plates have worn too much or the front pump is not supplying the correct fluid pressures. That would need a complete rebuild to fix.
