Make sure that the choke is working and releasing the fast idle cam. May need to be lubed a little if the cam is dirty and stuck.

check this,
remove a convenient spark plug, stick it on it's wire and place where you can see it, stick you finger over the spark plug hole and have a friend crank the engine, note whether the air blast and spark are the same instant if not the distributor's out of time

change the motorcraft module box located on the inside fender well on the left side

git the book out of the glove-compartment. the temp gauge is not the problem, the sensr is,replace. the fuel gauge is not the problem the in tank register gauge is the problem. it is called the BANJO. GIT NEW JEEP! LOL.

Fill the master cylinder reservoir and let it gravity flow! Do not touch the brake pedal while doing this ! And make sure the top is placed back on the reservoir befor touching the brake pedal !

if you mean brake, then it controls brake fluid from master cylinder to wheel cylinders, sending it where needed for best operation and safety

Sounds like start solinoid has bad connection or needs replaced. Power to coil comes from start solenoid. Check solenoid and wires and fussable link.

IDLE DOWN, HOT or cold engine,? is the choke OFF? if the choke is off you can starve it of all air. at the stop screw. if not, then the throttle cable is tight, or you have air leaks in the plenum somewhere. but air leaks cause lean, but with a bad tuned rich weber, it will race with air leaks, bingo???? im a carb o holic. retire.

Assuming you're talking about the brake system... The proportioning valve is on the rear brakes only when the vehicle has rear Drum Brakes. What it does is limits the brake line pressure to the rear brakes during normal stopping. This way the rear brakes don't lock up and cause the vehicle to fish tail or spin. When you press the brakes harder than normal, the proportioning valve opens more to allow more line pressure so you're able to stop faster.
